If I remember correctly, the DMG recommends somewhere or another that characters should be penalized eventually for not sleeping... BUT, that's where Warforged comes in, because it specifically says that you don't need to sleep. Warforged and Shardmind are the only ways to pull it off, as far as I'm aware.
Of course, if the DM doesn't want to do anything about it, then that frees the race up.
I am okay with you saying my argument is stupid, or commits the munchkin fallacy, or any other bad thing you want. Particularly if you give a reason/explanation for it.
However, I will ignore any post that calls me stupid, or a munchkin, or what have you. Not because it bothers me; I've just found that people only start name-calling when that's the best argument they have left.

Gaining the Undead keyword also does it (Revenant feat).

Ah, hidden away in the keyword... I noticed the feat before and was saddened that it mentioned the eating and such without the sleeping part.
In that case, you could go Revenant (Human) and take Dead God Avatar for the ED (the L30 feature is pretty fun).
