I've played a couple of games now of LoD and I can't quite find the answer to a few of movement questions. I'll use Drizzt Do'urden whose speed is 7, for the character example.
1. The Hypnotic Spirit: "Othewise, the closet Hero moves 2 tiles closer to the Hypnotic Spirit." How is the character moved here? Do they move their Speed twice or simply move to a similiar space two tiles toward the Spirit?
2. Feral Troll: "Damage 3, and move the Hero 2 tiles." How is a character moved after being damage by the troll. Is it simply that they are moved 2 tile back but stop on a similar space? What happens when the Troll hits them and the space is unexplored do they stop at the edge or do you add the two tiles. Further, if you do add the tiles - does that mean you draw monsters as well?
3. Does the hero have to stop moving as soon as he reaches an unexplored edge or can they continue to move up the max of his speed? Example - Drizzt can move 7 squares on his turn. so potentially, being 1 square away from an edge on his previous turn could move into a tile and then reach the subsquent tile (and potentially one more). Assumption is monsters (and encounters if tiles have a black triangle) are added for each one.
Thanks for all your help in advance!

1. The tiles in this case are the interlocking pieces. You can choose to put Drizzt on any of the little squares you like as long as he is on the correct tile. His speed is irrelevent in regards to this effect.
2. I suspect that you could move the hero two tiles into unexplored territory, but normally you would choose to send your hero whatever direction is safest. However, if this isn't challenging enough for you I suggest that you make house rules. I am not sure about this answer since I haven't consulted the rule book lately.
3. No. The new tile is only explored after the hero's turn is over.

I'm just going to add to Truthspeaker's answers here. 1. The tiles in this case are the interlocking pieces. You can choose to put Drizzt on any of the little squares you like as long as he is on the correct tile. His speed is irrelevent in regards to this effect.
It took me a while to grok this, too. The important thing is to move the piece the appropriate number of tiles. Then, you can place the character anywhere on that tile you want. There's a tactics consideration there.
2. I suspect that you could move the hero two tiles into unexplored territory, but normally you would choose to send your hero whatever direction is safest. However, if this isn't challenging enough for you I suggest that you make house rules. I am not sure about this answer since I haven't consulted the rule book lately.
I'd say no here. If the troll knocks Drizzt back, put him two tiles away from the troll on a tile that's already been put down. My reasoning is that exploration happens in the Exploration Phase only. Monsters acti in the Villain Phase, which starts when the Exploration Phase is complete. Therefore, no new exploration happens in that phase, unless specifically instructed to do so by a more specific rule.
3. No. The new tile is only explored after the hero's turn is over.
Correct. It is important to make the distinction between phases in this game. Once the exploration phase starts, the Hero's turn is over and done.
As fas as the original question goes, the Hero does not have to stop moving if he reaches a tile edge with Speed remaining. He can continue moving along the edge or away from the edge until he moves a number of squares equal to his Speed. However, as Truthspeaker said, in order to put down a tile, the player has said, "My Hero Phase is complete." So, Drizzt cannot move to the edge, put down a new tile and then move some more. All hero movement is performed in the Hero Phase, which has already been completed.
