Honestly, both pull of leaderishness well.
Invokers have ease of access to Morninglord, providing everyone with 10 vulnerability, and can gain access to multiple dominates in epic, and can critfish to provide more vulnerability, however this is notably at 16-30
Wizards have sleep and slumber, both of which knock unconcious, and gain easy access to stupid saving throw penalties. They also get some dominates.

Invokers also have Flame of Hope, which is a pretty decent leadery PP. +int to hit for everyone for an AP round is going on as good as War Chanter's 16F, given that the accuracy is way more important than the samage - and the powers are pretty decent as well, particularly Numinous Cascade.

Except Warchanter doesn't specify targets, gives + damage, and has WAYYYY better other features and powers. But yeah, the same...ish...

It's decent considering it's on what is nominally a controller. And accessible to people who aren't at least a hybrid bard.

Sure, but one doesn't force you to play a Valbard for 10 levels, the other one does. Also, Flame of Hope buffs your own accuracy for attacks too, which is ridiculously important - you're the one that's actualy tee'ing off the nova and need to land those leadstrike powers.

The same in general, but meaningful things.
You mean, the part where their instinctive actions are usually overtly harmful to you?

The object is not to become as powerful as possible, to win, to be better than everyone else, etc.
While not the object of the game, it is the object of the Character Optimization board.

I've seen 3 of their dailies change combats. I also really like their e7 and e13. The coupling of solid control at-wills (Tidal Shot is awesome, thanks Cazz), some solid encounter powers, are a couple of great dailies, they surpass the druid.
I'm happy for you that you've played with a good Seeker. Maybe one day you'll play with a good Druid and have more happy anecdotes to share with us.

When did D&D become about power-builds rather than roleplaying? Have you considered that it might be more fun to spend less time worrying about how you can abuse the rule framework and more time on being imaginative? I think the direction D&D has taken has basically destroyed the core of the game. The object is not to become as powerful as possible, to win, to be better than everyone else, etc. The point is to have fun and let your creativity loose. If the rules don't suit you, then bend them, or ignore them altogether. Nobody is going to fault you for it. And if they do, they're missing the point, too. But, that's just 2 cents from a guy who hasn't played in a decade and a half, so what do I know?
I bet if you actually played you'd find out D&D hasn't "become" as different as you think. There's a whole mess of people in Character Development devoted to your ideals and whatnot. I know many players in real life, and probably 20-25% care about mechanical optimization. For those people, part of the fun and imagination comes from piecing together rules elements in a creative way to make something effective in combat. "The point" and "the object" of the game are different for different people, and can be reached by different paths. This forum is probably not your path.

I've played with a number of druids. They typically devolve to Magic Stones spamming with an occasional dominate.
