Perhaps it wasn't clear, in which case the fault was mine, but that line, like the rest of the post preceding "Seriously, though" was meant as humor.

The Jedi are essentially Wizards. The movie Chronicle, essentially Wizards. Push, Wizards.
*sigh* The Wizard has a nasty habit of stealing all of the Psion's stuff. Not only can the Wizard be just as proficiency with telepathy and telekinesis mechanically, but now you want to give it the Psion's pop culture character examples too?
Why, yes, as a matter of fact I am the Unfailing Arbiter of All That Is Good Design (Even More So Than The Actual Developers) TMSpeaking of things that were badly designed, please check out this thread for my Minotaur fix. What have the critics said, you ask? Heh, you say “Telepathy and ESP”, I say, “Seiðr ok Spá”.
In context, I mean “Wizard” moreso in the broad sense of the archetype.
I would be happy if D&D split the Wizard into separate classes. Nothing stopping anyone from multiclassing. I would use the power sources to split the Wizard up.

Eh, I guess. It's the closest in terms of the 4 most classic base classes. But I still wouldn't go there. What's next, Professor X and Jean Grey are Wizards?
Anyway about that age thing I was saying before, I agree that a wider variety of ages depicted would be great, but I don't want the those different lifespan things some races have to continuously get used as a cop-out for it. A hundred-year old Elven women who looks in Human terms like she's twenty does not count as depicting an older character. Let's look back at Tevish_Szat's example, which uses this cop out (not that I'm trying to call you out in an accusing way or anything, just that it's a great example of what can happen when people aren't really thinking about it). In it, we have men of varying ages being depicted, but for the women, they all look young. I hope that I don't have to explain further how this is problematic, considering all of the other threads we've had discussing the relatively limited ways in which women are portrayed in fantasy artwork.

I have honestly never heard anyone treat "wizard" in such broad terms as Haldrik - and we're on a D&D forum. D&D! Where "Wizard" eats essentially every magical archetype that isn't "Holy Caster", "Nature Caster", or "Psi Caster" (except where it does, mechanically - and it does eat parts of those).
Push, really? For shame, sir - you should not spoil the good name of psionic characters in such a fashion.
Next you'll be telling me that the main character from Psi-Ops was "essentially" a Wizard with guns.
And after that maybe we can shift over to Roland Deschain, and call him a Wizard.
(And only now do I remember how much better things other than the D&D Wizard are. Or maybe it's just remembering how much I really don't care for 'fantasy' tropes and aesthetics.)

The cover of AD&D player´s handbook, by Jeff Easley, in 1989, is a true classic. The tittle is very simple (for current point of view), but effective, only that letters are a unmistakable classic icon. I love the covers of 3.5 Edition, for example Monster Manual 2, Expandend Psionic Powers Handbook, Magic of Incarnum, Exalted Deeds and Vile Darkness. The 4th Ed cover has got a fantastic picture, but the layout of titles is too "simple". The layout and cover ornament should make us feel like handicraft from Past, like the covers of Fogorten Realms 3rd Ed or Heroes of Horror. I would add some ornament to the tittles. The tittle logo must be a icon itself, a blurry image from far distance would be enought to be recogniced. The 4th Ed titles. If we forget the dragonic & the littles are like the rest of lots of ones of videogames, books or movies. I had replace the line in the the midle for a weapons like a sword, a waraxe, a lance or a halberd. The 3.5 Ed logo maybe was the best, but the & had got a dragon head spitting fire, like AD&D. I wish say the logo of D&D online has got a good design, I like the form of the plaque (like a axe?). It should be used like inspiration to create new designs (for example the shape of the plaque like a warhammer)..

Ironically, Gandalf is really a Paladin.
And Hobbits were really just squirrels.
(Not that I disagree on the Gandalf thing per-se, though Tolkien-to-D&D conversions are largely stupid. I just thought it was time for something preposterous. For the lulz.)
