Every time you kill 20 or more of something with a weapon it get a name and becomes magic.
My might weapon "Dread Spork" has slain 40 kobold. The retched creatures tell bedtime stories to scare their young before sending them off to bed at day.

Imagine a world where the first-time D&D player rolls stats, picks a race, picks a class, picks an alignment, and buys gear to create a character. Imagine if an experienced player, maybe the person helping our theoretical player learn the ropes, could also make a character by rolling ability scores and picking a race, class, feat, skills, class features, spells or powers, and so on. Those two players used different paths to build characters, but the system design allows them to play at the same table. -Mearl

So you are OK with Greyhawk and Darksun and Ravenloft but not OK with Conan or Zombies in the Old West or a game about anthropomorphized unicorns and pegasus?
You've got to be kidding, what do talking pink/purple ponies have to do with Dark Sun?
...aside from the worst sort of avatar...
What does Dark Sun have to do with traditional D&D?
No paladins, no unicorns, no pegasi, no steel weapons, no plate mail armor, no wolves, no eagles, no demons, no cloud castles, no princesses, and no dragons.
My Little Pony has these.
Instead Dark Sun has cannabilistic halflings, desert elves, spinewyrms, blood obsidian, and preservers.
Which sounds more like traditional D&D?
P.S. Note my Avatar. Free the My Little Ponies from the evil demon and his minions!!!

Instead of str, dex, con, int, wis, and cha, they should rename the ability scores as: Libido, Mortido, Aggression, Sadism, Masochism, and Optimism.
Get on it, WOTC!!! You'd be crazy not to.

Demons/Tanar'ri are in Dark Sun/Athas (all Outer Planar beings are, the Githyanki even raided the planet).

So you are OK with Greyhawk and Darksun and Ravenloft but not OK with Conan or Zombies in the Old West or a game about anthropomorphized unicorns and pegasus? I'm fine with games about any of them existing. But D&D should include things built specifically FOR D&D, not crossover products. The D&D campaign settings, while they may mimic the flavor of other products, were built specifically with D&D in mind.

Demons/Tanar'ri are in Dark Sun/Athas (all Outer Planar beings are, the Githyanki even raided the planet).
There are no outer planes in Dark Sun. There is the material plane, the ethereal plane, the plane of shadow, and 4 elemental planes. These are the inner planes and demiplanes.
You can create monsters that function like demons or angels that live on the ethereal or shadow plane but they are not demons or angels in the same respect since they come from neither heaven, Hell, or the Abyss and do not serve the deities of those planes. They can function as demons if you like.
Githyanki are not from the Outer planes. They are from the Astral plane. The outer planes, such as the Nine Hells, Celestia, Arcadia, Gehenna, the Abyss, etc., do not exist in Dark Sun. Only the inner planes do, the elemental planes. It is a much simpler cosmology.

This could be fun but I think it would be something where you would need a gem or something.
