Dang, what happened to Thought? I wanted to spend my AP while talking to TASOE.
Sorry for the flavorless and boring creation of The Shadow and its inhabitants. I was really planning on having it happen during an interesting conversation with TASOE while Umbra took them on a tour of the Shadow, but now I just needed to spend those AP before the week ended.

There was actually quite a bit of... division as to the point of an Avatar between us, actually. The one thing we all agreed on was that an avatar is you and you are your avatar. No splitting yourself up into infinite copies (although temporary duplications *have* happened before and we'd be more than willing to entertain the idea).
With that in place, what, then, *is* the point of an Avatar? Mechanically, we were divided. Some of us thought that there was absolutely NO point to having an Avatar, as it was just an overpriced exarch... without the added playability of the Exarch. Others of us held that it actually wasn't appropriate for Gods and Mortals to be speaking with one another, and the proper way to speak to mortals was through an avatar.
Roleplaywise, there are many possible reasons to want an avatar: Easier to talk to mortals if you are a mortal too, sometimes, etc... and if you want to go the route of NO INTERACTIONS are possible between your god and mortals, you are welcome to do that.
Mechanically, we've come up with the following benefit: If you are an avatar, you are 'invisible' to other Gods (rather, you look like any other mortal, assuming you don't draw a ton of attention to yourself). Usually, we allow Gods to sense when other Gods are approaching... but your avatar doesn't do this. This means such things as being able to (for instance) break an Abjure action without, potentially, getting into conflict with the Abjuring God. Alternately, it allows you to do some pretty nasty things to a civilization but without implicating your God (within reason... if you march in and declare 'I AM ONUS COME TO EARTH' and start cutting people's heads off, well... that might somehow get back to you). This is something that Exarchs... can't do.
The Avatar action has been used very rarely in this game. I can probably count it on one hand. We still offer it as an option, however, due to the RP elements behind it.
On another note, go ahead and spend that 2 AP from last week you wanted to spend... just... do it quickly, mmm? 
Well, That makes me feel significantly less omnipotent. But at least it has a decent effect. If you do buy the avatar, is it then assumed you can swap between avatar and normal status without further expenditure of AP?
Also, I thank you for the opportunity to use the AP, but I will take it as a lesson learned for going forward. I will make sure my AP is spent by Saturday now. I'd rather not be the one that gets exceptions made for them. Appologies if I made it seem that way.

@Command: I'll probably just have a bit of a skirmish with your god, hopefully he'll get the upper hand and force me to retreat. Its one of the most profilc fictionial tropes for the villian to win a battle to show the audience how powerful they are.
Then again, this fight is techinically two-on-one so.... We'll see what happens!
Edit: This is somewhat @Topheh
I don't intend for Winter to last entire turns, but rather 3 days of real life time. A lot can still be affected by Winter in that time. I'll probbaly call Winter around slightly more often then once a month, maybe every 25 Days. So this winter will last until the 13th, and I'll call the next one on the 5th. Keep in mind these dates are the intended averages, the time winter comes and its length may vary.
Also, athough it was intended In-game that Winter come every few years for a few weeks, I'm pretty sure if we analyzed how much time we say is passing then Winter is more of a re-occuring Ice Age then a season, so I'll keep the amount of time Winter lasts in-game as vague.

Right. If you have the avatar and its not killed off for some reason, you're free to switch back and forth at will.
As for the AP, honestly, you wouldn't be the exception. We usually ...
Actually, in fact. New Rule. You have to spend your previous week's AP by 11:59 PM Sunday Night. The Reset might happen earlier than that, but your old AP doesn't dissapear until the day itself is done. Yes, this potentially means that for a few hours you might have double AP.

mmm... Sure. Was mostly trying to make sure that everyone noticed that it was winter and they should pay attention. (As apparently turning the sun off IC doesn't get people's attention )

Terribly sorry. Alas, as noted last week, I've been sick. Currently at the "sleep most the day" stage.
@Topheh, question: if the benefit of an avatar is so slight, and not every particularly solid at that, is there any reason (beyond tradition) not to make it a 3AP action? At best it seems to be on par with an exarch, if not slightly lamer.

I have a question Thought: how is Artun and Zebus going to interact since Zebus doesn't exactly have a form, or ways to really percieve the outside world (mostly)? Is Zebus just not going to know that Artun is there, as much as Artun isn't going to know that Zebus is there also?

Good question. I'd assume that Zebus would at least be able to sense another god, right? So he could at least know that someone was there, and that he didn't recognize them. I guess it really depends on how much awareness Zebus has.
