I wish to make a character that calls upon his ancestors to assist him in fighting. If at all possible, I want him to be a Revanant. Unless it is the only one that works, I would like to avoid taking the Shaman route. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Almost any class with a level of mysticism could work towards this. Heck, even those without. If he were a martial character, perhaps he has an old heirloom sword or the like from his ancestors. They may even still haunt the item (intelligent item). Pick a class you like and try to come up with a way that the character's ancestors could be granting him power, be it a real power or even a placebo. Happy Gaming

Why avoid the Shaman when it's basically exactly what you're asking? Animist is pretty badass, as are the others in their own rights...

The standard d4 is somewhat (SOMEWHAT) rounded on the top, the older models are even flat. The Lego is shaped in such a way that in an emergency, you can use one as a makeshift surgical knife.
My wife asked me if her pants made her look fat. What do you think I said?
Wife: Do these pants make me look fat?
RedSiegfried: I just killed a bunch of orc women and children.

The important question is, Which ROLE do you want the character to have? There's at least one class for every combat role whose powers and fluff are either directly or could possibly be tied to some sort of "spirit calling"...
Spoiler:

I am the Magic Man. (Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.)
I am the Lawnmower Man. (I AM GOD HERE!)
I am the Skull God. (Koo Koo Ka Choo)
There are reasons they call me Mad...

I would like him as a striker, but I can also settle for controller if needed. I do not want Shaman because one of my friends is already playing one and I want to try a different route than he did. I know I can just choose a different build, but I would like to be unique

You could try playing as a barbarian and refluffing the rages so that they are your ancestors inhabiting your body or guiding you in battle instead of the primal spirits.

Vestige pact or Sorcerer King pact warlock both have mechanics to back up the fluff of calling on one (SK) or more (VP) spirits to assist you.
Or you could be a barbarian - the class is actually written so that it's official fluff involves calling on spirits.
Alternately, both ranger and monk could also be refluffed to have their powers be the results of calling on spirits.
