Since someone started a favorite game system thread, I though the other side of that coin should be explored.
My least favorite non-D&D game out there is Pathfinder, followed closely by GURPS and Hero.
Anyone else want to weigh in?

System-wise, I'd probably say Shadowrun. I actually love the setting of shadowrun, but the mechanics are well... really clunky. You roll armloads of dice to achieve anything, and the hacking rules are just unbelievably complex.
It's an example of a system that's a lot more complicated than it needs to be.

Ooh! Speaking of dice pool systems, I also really dislike the Storyteller system for a few reasons...but the giant ass dice pools are chief among them. Exalted is probably the worst offender.
Dice pool systems wouldn't necessarily be bad...I like games with aggregate dice pools like WEG Star Wars, or mixed Dice Pools like Cortex+, but enough with the giant success count pools already.

Funny, that's what I liked about them. It provides you with power at a consequence. It's what made Marvel comics so huge :P

Palladium Fantasy RPG. I loved the world. I loved the magic system. But the combat system is a) all over the place in the books (very hard to figure out what is where) and b) contradictory. Rules As Written does not work. Which means you'd have to house-rule, no matter what you do. I never figured out how to get a working combat system, and gave up.

So many choices ...
Palladium in general gets the first nod just for being a complete clusterfudge of a system. WoD (either one) gets the second vote for lack of balance as well as a craptastic setting and mechanically enforced stereotypes. Burning Wheel and Legend of the Five Rings get a mention for the enforced stereotypes as well; Lo5R also gets the nod for a sucky setting.
Another day, another three or four entries to my Ignore List.

Among those that I have actually played, GURPS. I found the rules to be unnecessarily complicated and inelegant. (It's really the inelegance that I dislike, since I don't have anything against complexity.)
Adding in those that I have merely read, Eclipse Phase. I like the setting, but I really, really, really hate the rules.
The difference between madness and genius is determined only by degrees of success.

Probably World of Darkness. I don't mind reading the fluf and system books, mechanically its a big meh for me.
Reducing a character to a list of dice rolls and modifiers is not role playing*

Figures, those are my 3 favorite ones.
As for ones I don't like: Palladium - Some of their worlds are facinating but the system is a cludge fest of random rules. Gamma world 4e - Game is so encounter based and so random that strategy is meaningless Rolemaster - Not terrible, but much of the game system degenerates into a chart fest and requires a lot of rule mastery Battletech - The attempt to weld a tactical wargame and RPG into one system was interesting but broken
