in 4e.
I can use the power of wizzard:

Arcane Whirlwind
Howling winds straight from the Elemental Chaos whip your foes around the battlefield.
Daily        Arcane, Evocation, Implement, Thunder, Zone
Standard Action      Area burst 2 within 10 squares
Target: Each creature in the burst
Attack: Intelligence vs. Reflex
Hit: 2d6 + Intelligence modifier thunder damage, and you slide the target 1 square.
Miss: Half damage.
Effect: The burst creates a zone of rushing winds that lasts until the end of your next turn. As a minor action, you can slide one creature within the zone 2 squares. As a move action, you can move the zone 6 squares.
Sustain Minor: The zone persists, and you can slide one creature within the zone 2 squares

To move a creature that occupies 9 square with the effect of this magic,

whereas a creature normally occupies only one square????????????

They won't occupy 9 squares, but be moved 9 squares.  Here is an example:

The field:

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXEXXXX
XXXXXAXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
E = Enemy
X = Blank Space
A = Center of Arcane Whirlwind.

Assuming you hit you can do this:

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXEXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXZXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX

Moving the creature one square. Now as a minor action on that turn you can choose to slide the creature 2 squares furthur (since it is still in the zone.)

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXEX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXZXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX

Then as a movement action say you want to move the zone.

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXEX
XXXXXXXXZX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX

It goes there.  On the monster's turn he moves away. to this formation:

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXZX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXEXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX

If you wanted to on your next turn you could use 2 minors and a move in order to move and sustain the zone, and move the creature.  It would look like this:

Move action to move the zone:

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXZXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXEXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX

It is now in the zone, so you can sustain minor to move it here:

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXEZXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX

Then downgrade your standard action to a minor action (not sure why you would want to do this, but it is something you can do) to move it like this:

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXEXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXZXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX

Make sense?  The creature only occupies one square, but can be moved a lot.

Sure.  basically just slide the center of the creature.

XXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXEEEXXX
XXXZXEEEXXX
XXXXXEEEXXX
XXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXX

That would be 1 square of sliding and the creature would still be in the zone.  The creature doesn't need it's whole body in the zone to be able to be moved.  An ancient gargantuan blue dragon only needs his pinky toe in the zone to be tossed about.

Unless the specific power you are using specifies that there is a size limit, there isn't one.  If it says you push, pull, or slide the target, then can do so.
