Just an idea, don't know if it would be a "gamebreaker" for the arcane players, and don't know if it would be a workable idea.
You can get to where you can see(and hear?)through your familiar. If you can position your familiar right, while the enemies are distracted, could it be workable for an extra feat taken in familiars, that you could use your familiar to shoot ranged attacks around corners, maybe even getting combat advantage or surprize on that enemy?
Just an idea, don't know how good it actually is(looks good to me).

Dragonling allows you to make it the origin of an arcane close blast 1/enc. And a few of the Heroes of the Elemental Chaos familiars have a similar property.
