Are there any Called Shots rules in any 3e or 3.5 book?

Or non-WotC d20 book, as long as it is bassed on 3e/3.5?

If it wasn't for Shadowfax, Gandalf never would have made it.

P. 27 of the DMG gives a nod in that direction.

The idea of hitting an extra sensitive spot for damage is covered in the critical hit rules. Basically you're always aiming for sensitive spots (otherwise, what's the point?) and crits are when you succeed.

Neue, I remember reading those in the DMG.

Ravenham, I had checked UA and couldn't find anything. Can you direct me to a page?

If it wasn't for Shadowfax, Gandalf never would have made it.

This.

The "called shots" in 3.5 are when you use special maneuvers (sunder, trip, disarm) that aren't normally done to deal damage.  Many other things could be seen as "called shots" although the game mechanics may not call them such; using Power Attack could be seen as attempting a "called shot" when looked at a certain way.

I'm sure that if you look enough you can find all kinds of 3rd-party "called shot" rules but they are unofficial and definitely unsupported with the official rules.  Far too often I see these new rules as providing too much bang from that it takes to use them.

As Tempest and the others say that is just a given rule. Otherwise it just becomes unbalanced when you can callshot a level 30 in the eyes and helpless blind him when you hit for 11 dmg out of his 400hp or hit hs hand for 8 dmg out of his 350hp (Just throwing numbers out there for point of view) and now he is unable to do anything at all with said hand.

Way back in second edition days they did have some chart for it I... think it was tsr but could of been 3rd party and needless to say most DMs never allowed it an the ones that did quickly banned it once trying it few times hehe.

Called Shots are covered under Precision damage,  which is what a Rogue does with Sneak Attack, he hits a vulnerable area, the extra damage is dealt as a consequence, the same really for critical hits. there are a number of feats for Sneak attack that gives specific effects for body parts. Otherwise there is Sunder
