Dude. Who did the wiring job on that house? I'm guessing they didn't get permits. That's just wrong on so many levels. How does it feel to live in a deathtrap?
The owl's a cute little bugger, but his perch needs to go.

If anyone's wondering about the wire he's on, it's part of a lighting project we're working on to spot light the crystal door. The wires are not live either. They are completely safe Jet He doesn't seem very old (he's fairly small yet), so I'm not sure if this is his home or not yet or if he's just passing through. I'll probably find out tomorrow if he's around again.

Okay, an ongoing project is an acceptable excuse. We'll pretend that's the real reason.

It's the only reason they are out at all actually. (there were not any wires anywhere near the door when we put the door in.) We had to modify the frame of the house to get the door in anyway (which the frame of the house around the door is ludicrously reinforced now. Overkill, there is no kill like it!), after we saw the door in daylight for the first time, we decided it needed spot lights for night time use. So we took it back down and routed the wire. Royal Pain to get the wires routed fully as we put the door in even with the guide tracks we cut in to fish the wire through. EDIT The owl is still up there, so at the very least he's resting here for the day I think.

That's pretty sweet. Er, the owl, not the wiring.
