Very interesting stuff. I can't wait to see what A0 will be like as I have fond memories playing A1-4. I'm glad WotC is moving towards an all inclusive approach to supporting D&D editions as I play all of the old editions on a semi-regular basis. I just hope they also continue to support 4e. I'm still waiting for the October rules update which was alleged to contain the September rules update....
Want to know more about the history of D&D, especially how to play older editions of the game? Check out Crazy Monkey's "Tour through the editions":

The current edition is BECMI, the most popular form of Basic D&D and the adventure is the classic Red Box quest to kill Bargle the evil magic user. Check it out, learn about the games roots, and enjoy the story as it unfolds.

If it's true, I'm glad to hear it. With some 2e & 3e stuff also, WotC would be certainly showing support & love to the older players. And for me personally, more old-school makes me want to continue support for 4e & 5e. Good on them!
I prefer 2nd Edition AD&D. But I have played basic, 1E, 2E, 3.5, & 4E, and found all to be fun.

IF IT'S D&D, I'LL PLAY IT, NO MATTER THE EDITION.

Just roll some dice.

Being a 1e & 2e DM & player that is not nor ever has been impressed with 3e or 4e, I will definately buy into this line.  I hope that they will start supporting past editions once again, as I do have friends that enjoy other editions.
