I think my arteries hardened just reading this...
You know that saturated fat that everyone says is horrible for you and will cause arteriosclerosis? Turns out, it's actually extremely healthy. And those polyunsaturated fats like margarine that are supposed to be really healthy? Turns out they're the very opposite.
Steak with butter is good. It's awesome, actually. You should try it. A medium rare ribeye or strip with a pat of herb butter on top? Amazing.
I thought it was the only one on these boards that actually knew those health facts. One of the reasons those butter-substitutes are so bad (for me in particular) is they have certain oils in them, that butter doesn't, that loosen the esophagial muscle. This makes my heartburn much, much worse. Really, any kind of oil that loosens that muscle is a bad idea if you have even moderate heartburn. Peppermint oils too. I cried when I found out about that.

Personally I just skip the cognac and use water, or beef broth/stock, or any liquid I feel like. Anything that's basically water will work fine. For added bonus, wrap in bacon when done.

My wife has been fanatically anti-margarine since we first met... I have always put butter on the meat on the grill then sprinkled garlic salt or another seasoning on.

Did anyone notice this thread started with the people liking steak just saying they like steak while the one who didn't like steak instead started talking about why others shouldn't eat it also? Its like a metaphor for this forum.
And to be on topic. Steak with bacon, potatoes with cheese. Win. Needs nothing else.

Actually, the best steak I've ever had was at a Ted's Montana Grill (I think that's the name, anyway) in Reston, VA. This is the place that asked me the best question ever when I ordered my steak. I ordered the cut I wanted, and the waitress returned "Would you like that as beef, or bison?" to which I replied "Oh, bison please."
BEST. STEAK. EVER.
This is why if I ever have a time machine, I'm going to go back to where people would shoot bison from the rail cars and leave them to die, and I'm taking rocket launchers with me. We'll see if they like it when the bison shoot back. And then we will eat them. Er....the bison. Not the people.
For those confused on how DDN's modular rules might work, this may provide some insight: http://www.tor.com/blogs/2012/11/the-world-of-darkness-shines-when-it-abandons-canon
@mikemearls: Uhhh... do you really not see all the 3e/4e that's basically the entire core system?

I've had buffalo before, but never an entire steak. Might have to try some.

Meat is the best thing ever. Meat + Mushrooms YUM.
You aren't eating food really unless you are eating meat.
Things that 5E needs to do: -Make the use of battlemaps/miniatures the default. -Make healing fun, magical AND non-magical needs to be an option. Long live the Warlord! -Make magic items feel magic/mythical. I don't want a dagger +1, I want STING.

OK, I'd better balance this out.
Everyone who's reading this thread should go and eat some steak. Well, if they like steak, that is.

Steak w/ peppercorns, cheese crumbles, and mushrooms. Now I wonder about bacon too.
Mmmm... I hope this thread invades others on these forums. We need more stuff everyone can agree on. :D?
