I want an entire, playable game with a ruleset that spans no more than 20 pages, not counting bestiary and treasure lists.
I want to never read the word "edition" again, in any published D&D material.
I want a new cartoon show advertising the D&D brand to every child in America. I want beholders on backpacks, liches on lunchboxes, and mind-flayers on something that starts with the letter "m." I want celebrity D&D tournaments on ESPN2 and an annual game series which gets, at minimum, as much airtime as %&$#! Beach Volleyball.
I want articles extolling the merits of role-playing games for imaginative play, vicarious experience, and thought experimentation in every publication from Parents Magazine to the Journal of Developmental Psychology. I want an annual academic conference, or at least a recurring panel at the PCA meeting. I want reporters from 17 magazine asking Justin Bieber whether he prefers to play a warlock or a bard in his home games. I want a televised awards show.
I want Gary Gygax to have a statue. A big one.

It's nice to see my thread going well!
Psionics were mentioned so I'll put out my thoughts on them as well: They should definitely be availabe, as at least a class, in the first PHB.
I also want some of these things: A pure alchemy class (not an artificer), kind of similar to the one in Pathfinder. A ritual based class.

I want a witch. A nature-based, magic herbs, crystals, runes, oils, incense using witch with absolutely NO ties to wizards, clerics, druids, psions, or any other class. As a matter of fact, since I will not get this wish, I'll just go ahead and make my own.
In fond memory of Mark "Wrecan" Monack.

I want a Martial Controller
I'm with you on that one.
I want my campaign settings to have more impact on the tone of a campaign then then number of casters in the party.

Imagine a world where the first-time D&D player rolls stats, picks a race, picks a class, picks an alignment, and buys gear to create a character. Imagine if an experienced player, maybe the person helping our theoretical player learn the ropes, could also make a character by rolling ability scores and picking a race, class, feat, skills, class features, spells or powers, and so on. Those two players used different paths to build characters, but the system design allows them to play at the same table. -Mearl

I just realized, I can already make my at-will wizard now. The Academic Tradition wizard allows you to use all 0-level spells you have prepared as at-wills. All I have to do is get a bunch of 0-level spells and prepare them in higher slots, and I can use them at-will. Not what I expected out of the purportedly 'vancian' tradition, but it gets what I want done. Also, it's no where near balanced. But eh. I want a Martial Controller
I'm with you on that one.
I'll add my vote to the crowd. Though I want one a little better than the 4e hunter.

an annual game series which gets, at minimum, as much airtime as %&$#! Beach Volleyball.
The ONLY way that I could see that happening is if the games are LARP, and the combats use something like boffer weapons so the contestants have be up and jumping around a lot.
And for armor, there's a heavy emphasis on chainmail bikinis.
(To clarify: I'm not suggesting that this ought to happen. I think it's a horrible idea. But, in my opinion, it's what it would take to get an annual game series on television.)
"The world does not work the way you have been taught it does. We are not real as such; we exist within The Story. Unfortunately for you, you have inherited a condition from your mother known as Primary Protagonist Syndrome, which means The Story is interested in you. It will find you, and if you are not ready for the narrative strands it will throw at you..." - from Footloose

No, just go film the SCA. They like hitting other people; well, they did when I last participated years ago...

No need. Various poker tournaments, celebrity and otherwise, are well televised. No jumping about in chainmail bikinis necessary.
