Shouldn't it be boarwere?
Not if it's a wereboar.
Are you familiar with wolfweres and jacalweres or pigknights?

Lycanthropy is when a humanoid turns into an animal, usually a wolf. Antherian is when an animal turns into an humanoid.

I've taken an interest in muckdwellers lately. They're listed in the monster section of Serpent Kingdoms. They're +0 LA, tiny, and get -6 str, +6 dex, -2 wis, -2 cha. Also, they're amphibians, which are really under-represented in D&D.

Though some of the half-dragons look interesting. Green dragon/elf. Silver dragon/dwarf. Red dragon/ogre. Gold dragon/human. Black dragon/lizardfolk.

Tiefling for a wizard.
Aasimar for a paladin.
Celadrin (DR magazine) for bard.
Deep gnome for anything in an underdark campaign.
Minotaur, advanced as a monster - class.
.....
the list may go on for many - many lines.
I believe many of the non-standard races are interesting.

Top 3
- Minotaur - They are really cool, but I don't get into the mindless savage bit.
- Frost Giants - If you can convince a DM to let you do them.
- Kenku - Their mimick ability is really neat. Plus they are bird people which always leads to fun situations.

I can't get over how the _fred doesn't know the difference between a werewolf and a wolfwere. In addition to having lizardfolk in different climates you could use Savage Species and give them the tail weapons as an actual tail? Lizardfolk who develope an advanced society might become literate and lose the minus they get to INT.? Crocodiles lay clusters of eggs , what would happen if lizardfolk did , would they have population booms and come poring out of the swamps looking for food?

Stego-folk. If you use the size altering rules from the back of the MM , you can create Large size Lizardfolk. If you add tail spikes like a stego saur it gives them an additional attack. You could make them herbivores which means the swamp can support more of them. Give them a Barbed Trident to fight with. Remove swim ability but balance with higher natural AC? Random Thoughts.
