Eyebreaker, I can the feeling that you read the last part of my post in a way that was not intended. I apologize for not being more clear, but I'm at work & was in a hurry to finish my post. I meant the wiz/sorc spell list (and was wrong, as it turns out). And, unfortunately, the intrawebz don't convey tone very well: when I wrote "try reading the text", it was meant as a friendly suggestion, not as a snarky comment. Again, my apologies for any offense you took.

It's OK draco1119. As you said it is hard to tell the emotion around the words. Thanks for the apology. My apologies as well for taking it the wrong way and snapping back Cool

Don't worry about it - one of the most frequent questions when the book came out whas "what's the duskblade's spell list?" since everyone just read the "new spells" section in the magic chapter instead of the spell list in the class description. (One wonders why no one asked about the beguiler, which is presented in the same manner.)

I honestly feel like the spell list is not emphasized enough in those classes. It is just kind of hidden away at the end of the section.

IIRC its spells weren't reprinted?

In general I find this to be a really solid book. 4 new classes, loads of variant classes and some much needed higher level melee dude feats.

Reprinted? Was the PHB 2 reprinted? I'm guessing from a 3.0 to a 3.5?

Reprinted in the spell compendium. PHB2 was never a 3.0 book. The spell compendium takes a lot of spells from a huge variety of sources and reprints them in one big book. One noteable exception was the PHB2, which was not included..

So, I just checked, and yes, I was mistaken: The PHB2 spells are not reprinted in the Spell Compendium. (That's largely a collection of "Races of..." and "Complete..." spells, plus a few migrants from the setting books stripped of setting-specific flavor). This makes the value of the PHB2 increase even more as a standalone book, as most of the material is completely new and not found elsewhere.

(The only "reprinted" material I know of are a couple of the teamwork benefits, which are minor. All of the real crunch is new, and most of it's a cut above the chaff you sometimes find packing other books.)
