Looking for character creation for Lair Assault.
8th level Revenant Blackguard for Lair Assault. All ideas are welcomed.. good or bad.. Thanks in advance.
Step 1: community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758...
Step 2: Build own rough draft character. Step 3: Post results and request help tweaking and suggestions. Step 4: Receive actual help instead of snark.
If you're open to bad suggestions, then I propose playing a Blackguard
@ Planeswalker - I've read the build you just posted, I guess I shoud have been more specific..
I was looking for a Lair Assault Build that has been tested rather than use an opt-character. @ erachima - You pretty much answered my question, I will be moving on to something else. Thanks for both the replys.
I disagree that blackguard (well.. hybrid blackguard at least) is bad for lair assault.
Pixie blackguard|executioner with bless weapon and a charge kit can bring some serious pain. Take majestic halo as your D1, and now you're pretty much a full paladin too.
With the slight problem that a Warlock|Executioner is downright better.
For multiple encounters, yeah. For a signle encounter lair assault? No. Warlock has more support, but you don't have enough feats in heroic to take advantage of it.
Blackguard has got +8 damage with CA (trivial to get) against any enemy. It can get another 1d6 from its U2 or +cha to yourself and all allies with its U6. Warlock has 2d6 with a feat (ave. 7). Warlock has better encounter powers, but encounters are weighted less in this format. And the dailies? Warlock is a little superior in this regard, but I think in total, it comes out as a wash.
The current Lair Assault season severely limits the options of a lot of builds, because players may only be drow, or revenants with a past life of drow. That nixes the Pixie Hybrid Blackguard|Executioner, and without Pixie charge cheese, the Blackguard|Executioner loses a lot of steam.
There was another thread trying to explore the options for a Lair Assault avenger, running up against the same issue that avengers lose a lot of steam if you're race-restricted like the current LA is.
If your going to use revenent cheese, you might as well pick a weaker class.
Well,
I ended up toying with this idea anyways and this is what I came up with for a single-shot Lair Assault run. ====== Created Using Wizards of the Coast D&D Character Builder ====== Sir Dredge, level 8 Revenant, Paladin (Blackguard) Vice: Vice of Domination Choose your Race in Life: Drow Arcane Agent (Stealth class skill) Theme: Black-Hearted Knave FINAL ABILITY SCORES STR 18, CON 12, DEX 15, INT 10, WIS 8, CHA 16 STARTING ABILITY SCORES STR 18, CON 10, DEX 11, INT 10, WIS 8, CHA 14 AC: 27 Fort: 21 Ref: 20 Will: 20 HP: 69 Surges: 11 Surge Value: 17 TRAINED SKILLS Athletics +11, Religion +9, Stealth +11, Thievery +9 UNTRAINED SKILLS Acrobatics +4, Arcana +4, Bluff +7, Diplomacy +7, Dungeoneering +3, Endurance +5, Heal +3, History +4, Insight +3, Intimidate +9, Nature +3, Perception +3, Streetwise +7 POWERS Basic Attack: Melee Basic Attack Basic Attack: Ranged Basic Attack Black-Hearted Knave Attack: Treacherous Advantage Revenant Utility: Dark Reaping Paladin Attack: Dread Smite Paladin Utility: Shroud of Shadow Paladin Utility: Servant of Vice Paladin Attack 1: Vengeance Strike Paladin Attack 1: Dominator's Strike Paladin Utility 2: Vice's Reward Paladin Attack 5: Dark Majesty Paladin Utility 6: Aspect of Domination FEATS Level 1: Two-Weapon Fighting Level 2: Two-Handed Weapon Expertise Level 4: Two-Weapon Defense Level 6: Two-Weapon Threat Level 8: Weapon Proficiency (Urgrosh) ITEMS Ebon Plate Armor +2 x1 Cloak of Resistance +2 x1 Savage Mask x1 Potion of Healing Adventurer's Kit Boots of Stealth (heroic tier) x1 Urgrosh of Defense +2 x1 ====== End ======
