Best possible advice: don't play a Bladesinger.

Play a Swordmage, or Warlock.
Harrying your Prey, the Easy Way: A Hunter's Handbook - the first of what will hopefully be many CharOp efforts on my part.
The Blinker - teleport everywhere. An Eladrin Knight/Eldritch Knight.

CB != rules source.

If you're going to play a Human Bladesinger, here's how I'd do it:

Take Beast Switch as your extra at-will, and take War Wizard of Cormyr as your paragon path.  So now Beast Switch is your melee basic attack.  Which means your melee basic attack prones, slides, and prevents OAs.  Bladespells should be Dazzling Sunray, Frost Bite, and Unseen Hand.  Since you're going to be making melee basic attacks all the time, Purple Dragon is a good theme for you.

Nice that your DM is letting you get real wizard dailies out of Expanded Spellbook.  Freezing Cloud and Acid Arrow wouldn't be my first choices, though.  Sleep is where it's at.

Feats:
Human: Superior Implement (Accurate Dagger)
01 War Wizard's Expertise
02 Expanded Spellbook
04 Improved Defenses
06 White Lotus Riposte
08 Icy Heart
10 Lasting Frost (retrained from whatever)
11 Arcane Admixture Cold (Beast Switch)

Do you want to play as a defender, controller or striker?

Defender: play a Swordmage instead.

Controller: play a Swordmage instead. Alternatively, check out the Beastblade in my list of builds (see sig).

Striker: check my list of builds for different ideas. Best paragon path for human Bladesingers is indeed War Wizard of Cormyr, but you center your build around Lightning Ring for a lot of damage (and not the Bladespells mellowship posted above).
The Generator is a good alternative, and leaves your paragon path open.

No Sven. If you want a Striker, you STILL play a Swordmage, you just hybridize with Warlord or whatever. :P
Mountain Cleave Rule: You can have any sort of fun, including broken, silly fun, so long as I get to have that fun too (e. g., if you can warp reality with your spells, I can cleave mountains with my blade).

I know that. I'm just looking for an excuse to promote my little pet project.

ok, rebuilt as a swordmage.

Annnd yeah Spaceinvader, you gave great advice.

Cantrips and a bonus feat vs competent encounter powers, competent daily powers, 2 handed weapons (which I have a love affair with) and some much tastier Atwill powers/feat support.

Thoughts/recomendations?

For example It might be smarter to go Bastard sword at level 1 instead of the improved warding.... I still get my D10 (I can RP using it 2 handed and just ommit the versatile bonus) and I come out with a fatter AC.

Bastard Sword - Hold it one handed when not attacking and get your +3 AC, when attacking you can, as a free action, grab it with your second hand, get the versatile bonus, attack, then let go as a free action and have your full AC bonus back.

Option(though not really a good one): Be elf or half elf and take the feat where if you use a double scimitar or a falchion you get +2 to your AC which negates the penalty to AC by using a two-handed weapon.  You are already proficient in falchion so you save that feat but your weapon damage is only 2d4 but it is also +3 and high crit.

I'll take advantadge of the free actions for the bastard sword. It's a .5 average damage difference and I also like the bastard sword better.

And the versatile will upgrade my damage. ^_^

The Bastard Sword is a waste of a feat. It's +1 average damage on SOME of your powers. The only swordmages that should bother with bastard swords are the ones that get it packed in with another feat, which is to say, only Githzerai Blade Masters.
