Some guys at a shop I hang out at a starting a new D&D campaign and wanted me to join in. I looked over the classes and liked the Warlock class but dont like the pact options Ive seen. I was wondering if anyone has seen an example of a Celestial or Angelic pact warlock character build. i talked to the DM about it and he said if i could find a good example of powers and abilities the pact could grant and i could come up with a good background than it was okay with him to do it. I looked it up and im thinking it would be a pact with a Solar so the power level of the patron entity would ( i think) be around the same as an archdevil or demon lord. Ive already got the background covered but i dont have a good enough grasp on how the powers and everything else works to manage the rest. Anyone have ideas?

One, that's an invoker. Two, an argument can be made for reskinning the star pact, just take mostly radiant powers. Also, fear = awe. If you're new to the game, it's not advisable to try to homebrew anything, especially when what you want only requires a bit of imagination and something that's already there.

Agreed. Make you warlock star-pact. Or if you want a simpler character to start with under your guidelines, check out the Hexblade.

Star pact powers would work well for a celestial pact. Fey pact powers would be a great fit for a pact with a servant of a goddess of nature. A hexblade would be fitting with a servant of a god of war/combat.
Usually when I try to role play something that does not exist in the rules I use stat blocks of existing creatures/classes for balance purposes and adjust the fluff to fit my concept.
