What are some cool flavorful combinations of classes/specialties/backgrounds that people have found?

For instance

Mage Knight of Bahamut:
Sorcerer/Knight/Protector

Witch Hunter
Rogue/Thug/Bounty Hunter/Acolyte

Fighter/Priest/Acolyte : Paladin

Make it a High Elf and then you can get shocking grasp to "smite" your enemies

I really want to play a low INT, high STR/CON Fighter (protector), Survivor, Knight.

Named The Tick.

Or a Warlord:
Fighter (protector)/Healer/Soldier (maybe Noble)

I hope to play my High Elven War Cleric/Necromancer/Soldier tonight. Depending on what the others want to play though, I may have to go with a High Elven Protector Fighter/Arcane Dabbler/Knight.

Elven Bladesinger (Fighter/Arcane Dabbler) combining shocking grasp with jab, or ray of frost and parry, and using hit and run tactics.

Kind of like NealMac: High Elf War Cleric/Necromancer/Bounty Hunter... For this build I used the name MacMorrigan (seemed fitting) Track down your foes with uncanny certainty.... Use their souls to power your magic and bodies as your servants... And you can still bring the body back (under its own power even) if that is what the bounty calls for... Great for adding insult to injury or breaking the ice at parties.
Or...
Wood Elf Warlock/Magic User/Thief... Take a bat as your familiar at 3rd... And take Mage Hand and Shocking Grasp as cantrips... Decent stealth... Yes... Take Ethereal Stride and Shadow Veil... Cannot be blinded and darkvision if needed... Lots of ghostly shadowy possibility here... Plus you hit like a HAMMER at 3d6! Skills work well... Also good for breaking the ice at parties!

Just the first two I found and really enjoyed...

Arcane Dabbler=Magic User

I was like "When did they release new specialties"

That said, Arcane Dabbler is a little more evocative than magic-user.

Yeah, I think it sound's a little better.

I ended up playing a High Elf/Fighter/Soldier/Healer instead. Glad I did, since the DM went out of his way to jack up the difficulty and those extra potions paid off handsomely.

Would need tweaking with more domains but since we only have War and Sun I went with it...

But I enjoyed the concept of a cleric of the God with dominion over trade...

Cleric (war) / Protector / Charlatan

Began his life as a con man on the streets, swindling people out of their hard earned cash or merchandise until he was caught be another Priest of the faith. The priest had pity on him and rather than throw him into the dungeon he taught him the ways of the faith and the wrongs of his lifestyle the young man had been living thus far.

He's now dedicated to the promotion, proliferation, and perfecting of Trade. He offers himself up for free to trade caravans to help provide caravan protection and puts forward his services as a neutral third party to contentious trade deals or as a strong arm for one side when there's a feeling the other side may attempt deciet in a trade. He'll aid those seeking out new materials or knowledge to help them facilitate the creation of new items or services for trade. He'd use his abilities as a con man to discover dirty shop keepers or to help take down governments with restrictive trade policy.

It's fun trying to find speciality and background combos not normally associated with a class and yet still cause the final character concept to fit in a somewhat standard arch type

I really like this build... The Silver Dragon Sorcerer:
Neutral High Elf Sorcerer 1
AC 17, HP 17 (2d8+1), Speed 25'
Str 14/+2, Dex 10/-, Con 12/+1, Int 14/+2, Wis 8/-1, Cha 16/+3
Attacks:
Longsword +5; 1d10+2 slashing damage (+3 if masterwork... see below)
Ray of Frost +5; 1d6+3 cold damage
Shield +5; 1d6+2 bludgeoning damage
Shocking Grasp +5; 1d8+4 lightning damage
Background: Artisan, Blacksmith
Diplomacy +6, Local Lore +5, Professional Lore +5
Trait: Item Creation
Speciality: Survivor
Toughness (add 1d8 to HP)
Class and Race Features:
Cantrips (Mage Hand, Ray of Frost and Shocking Grasp), Elven Weapon Training, Free Spirit, Keen Senses, Low-light Vision, Sorcerous Origin (Draconic Heritage-Silver), Sorcery (Spells Known: Cause Fear, Shield), Trance
Equipment: adventurer's kit, blacksmith's tool kit, chainmail, dagger, healer's kit, masterwork silver longsword, mirror, shield, work clothes, 16 gold remaining

Now, use that mastercraft item from suggested equipment (artisan) on a longsword and spend the 50 gold on having it silvered (1/2 cost as Artisan-Blacksmith), sell the greatsword for 25 gold (you cannot use it anyway) to get a shield and a few other goodies you may need... Starting with that Masterwork Silver Longsword and being an elf descended from silver dragons just seems cool...
This build has good AC, good starting HP, decent attacks... And a cool sword! Hard to go wrong here...
