During yesterday's session (D&D 3.5), the wizard in our party, a servant of Vecna, convinced a couple of red slaadi (also servants of Vecna) to allow our party to cross the acid lake they inhabited...the price? They implant an egg in me. One week later, I fell ill, so I was rushed to a nearby fortress. A wizard there informed us that in one day, the blue slaad inside me would eat its way out and devour me alive. Everyone in my party wanted to cut me open on the spot and kill the slaad to save me, but I convinced them to allow me to give birth to it; after all, it was my child!

So I was dressed in magical robes which would heal minor wounds, and everyone gathered around me. There were two clerics (one NPC and one PC) with healing spells prepared, and my other party members with healing potions to pour down my throat, and the wizard from my party gave me twelve extra hit points and extra constitution. The DM decided at this point that since the rules simply state that the slaad's parent dies, the slaad would simply do claw and bite attacks to me, devouring twenty pounds of meat per round. He also told us that the slaad would not be satisfied until it had consumed my body weight in flesh: 205 pounds of meat (I'm a half-orc).

So for about ten rounds I was brought to the brink of death by the slaad (I had about 80 hit points total) while it ate my flesh, and then immediately healed to full health by my friends. Role-playing wise, we imagined my flesh was being continually regrown by the healing spells and potions, while the slaad continued to devour it at the same rate. Finally, after its hunger had been sated, it crawled out of the gaping cavity in my stomach, gave an adorable croak, and settled down to sleep beside me.

So now I have two characters: my half-orc fighter and my slaad, which I'll probably level in barbarian. I just wanted to share this story because I figured it was fairly unique. Has anyone else had similar experiences of giving birth to strange creatures or keeping strange creatures as pets?

Also, does anyone have any advice or ideas as to how I should roleplay and develop my slaad as a character? Name suggestions? Class suggestions? Etc.?

The two rangers in my party will help me learn to care for the slaad and train him, the cleric will help me instill him with good ethics and values, and the wizard (Vecna's servant) will probably try to corrupt him.

Oma, it was flavorful and the DM allowed it. That's what is important, not "You should have died!"

I'm not sure if it's the aberrant parenting or what, but for one weird moment, your comment made me think of Evangelion.

Zauber's Mutable Rod: This rod has a number of useful functions that make it easier to live in the wilderness.  It is made of polished wood, with five studlike buttons on one end.  Each button produces a different effect when pressed.  Unless otherwise noted, the rod’s functions have no limit on the number of times they can be employed.
When button 1 is pressed, one end of the rod produces a small flame, equivalent to a candle.
When button 2 is pressed, the rod unfolds into a two-person tent, complete with bedrolls and warm blankets.
When button 3 is pressed, the rod becomes a one-handed hammer, suitable for pounding pitons into a wall.
When button 4 is pressed, the rod becomes a sturdy iron spade.
When button 5 is pressed, the rod becomes a wooden bucket able to hold 2 gallons of liquid.  Once per day, it can be commanded to fill with fresh water.
If the rod is seriously damaged or broken in any of its alternate forms (button 2, 3, 4, or 5), it reverts to its basic rod form and cannot be activated for 24 hours.
Moderate conjuration; CL 9th; Craft Rod, minor creation; Price 375 gp; Weight 2 lb.

and for my if the cleric was lv 13 would make the story believable

This story is kind of awesome. Completely ridiculous, but awesome.

I believe, when Draco replied to your first post, that was what is known as "discussion". Calm down.

Awesome. Regeneration would've been the more appropriate spell, sure. But awesome anyway. And unique. I allow stuff (like this) if it's good thinking.
