D&D Documentary To Explore ‘The Most Influential Game in History’
2012 August 15
by Ethan Gilsdorf

How did a geeky hobby involving dice, graph paper, and a bowl of Cheetos roll a natural 20 to become the killer game of its era?

Talk about this news here.

I'm excited.  But on a side note, I also really like the dragon-ampersand they are using.  Someone point it out to Jon Schiderette!

Intriguing!
Here are the PHB essentia, in my opinion:
  • Three Basic Rules (p 11)
  • Power Types and Usage (p 54)
  • Skills (p178-179)
  • Feats (p 192)
  • Rest and Recovery (p 263)
  • All of Chapter 9 [Combat] (p 264-295)

A player needs to read the sections for building his or her character -- race, class, powers, feats, equipment, etc. But those are PC-specific. The above list is for everyone, regardless of the race or class or build or concept they are playing.

It really does look to be a very good documentary piece.

It even covers the less than pretty moments in the history behind D&D and TSR.

I for one will be anxious to see it.

Only four days to go. These guys are SO close to funding it. Their faithfulness to the historical aspects of the game and thier respect for all of its creators really impresses me. This is a documentary I really, really, want to see.

That's one of the most badass D&D logos I've ever seen.
