First, an experience from a game I played in a few years back. Our DM didn't like 3.5 as a whole but liked parts of it. So he hands us a big ass rules packet for his modified FR campaign, complete with quotes from important NPC's on the front. I can't remember most of the HRs, just that some how gods like Cyric and Bhaal existed at the same time, despite the obvious problems there. In the end the game became a problem more because of the railroading than the HRs, but it ended with this classic line, after our ranger tried to disarm the strange woman following us WITH HIS BOW: DM: You just killed (insert random noble sounding name here) JP: Was she important? Jack: Dude, she's quoted on the front of the rules packet!

After the meetup with Bastila (as she's carrying Revan's body), only TWO jedi masters remained with her. Let me tell you, the player whining about not getting to fight Revan himself shut up pretty quickly when he saw that.

you can get to 12-14 ish but, again I see no good reason for you to do this so I see no reason to tell you how to do it
Insulting someones grammar on a forum is like losing to someone in a drag race and saying they were cheating by having racing stripes.

Not only do the two things not relate to each other (the logic behind the person's position, and their grammar) but you sound like an idiot for saying it (and you should, because its really stupid )

4E D&D is not the place for rolling many dice. If it was an event I was running you would likely be penalized for unsportsman-like conduct.

If you truley want a game where you roll many dice I would try to find a high level 3.5 game, or take up another hobby like Warhammer.

Stop.

Stop right there.

You.  Out of the pool.  If the only reason you want to do something is to frustrate other people at the table, you're just being an ass and thinking your jollies are more important.  If you think frustrating other people or spoiling their fun is entertaining, go find another hobby.  We don't want you here.

If he really wants to roll too many dice, go to GURPs. :P

On the serious side Salla's completely  right, don't even go to the event because it won't be fun ,for you or for anyone else.

G.U.R.P.S.? Champions/Hero system or Shadowrun are my double handfull of dice games of choice.

Played a campain today with 5 others plus our DM and got to roll many many dice lol. As for it not fun,our DM thought it was awesome to see I put effort into making the game fusterating lol. We made jokes and everything and afterwards people were like "You rolled alot of dice but you did some nice damage and healed pretty good as well."
So lets recap everyone liked the idea, even the other 4 tables that got to see what I was doing. Thats around 20+ people total. Almost everyone said it was fun to watch and awesome that i did status damage to everything and healed alot of the time. I was even getting pointers to make more dice rolls. So seems all you 4E players are just to lazy to think and want the 4E Gen to make characters for you.

First of all, I'm laughing becuase you are acting like a child, gleeful that the DM got pissed off and smugly remarking that he is "not gonna be dm much longer". That's just immature. Also that remark about us needing a life bcause we take the game too seriously.

It sounds like they were pissed off that you rolled the dice but in the end you were useful. You rolling that many dice dosen't mean you are a damage beast etc. Aside from the obvious possibility of you  making this up, you went there to frustrate people. It didn't work. That has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them, we weren't "proven wrong".

FYI, I don't use the character gen, and how does not going into a game with the intention to make other people mad equal lazy? More like mature.

Our group has a barbarian with a mordenkrad who rolls obscene amounts of dice when he piles on.  It's neat.

Until he has to add them up and reroll all the ones because of the brutal.  Then we all start wandering off to find drinks and snacks and take short vacations and go to timeshare seminars.

And did I mention I can add his dice in about 15 seconds where it takes him over a minute?

It's not so neat, after all.  I can actually go to anydice.com and type in a forumula for his rolls faster than he can add it.  (sigh)

On the other hand, at least he doesn't take as long to add up his rolls as my wife takes just to decide which attack power she's going to use each round.  /Henny Youngman DM
OD&D, 1E and 2E challenged the player.
3E challenged the character, not the player.
Now 4E takes it a step further by challenging a GROUP OF PLAYERS to work together as a TEAM.

How many dice can you get

Next time, try all of them!

I have a thief build that rolls about 10 dice individually on a charge.  It's easy for me to add up damage because all of the damage is minimum 3 (thanks to Devastating Ki Focus), so I just look over the dice, sub in 3s when I see 1s and 2s and add it up.
