I've mostly been in the MTG section, but could you guys direct me toward a free antimalware/spyware thingy for Windows 7? My computer has been a little weird lately and I want to make sure it's not a virus or something and my current antivirus (Sophos) took 2 hours to scan 76 items.
Have you tried Malwarebytes? It's free, but they giv you the option to buy a full version for like $20. You can get a free trial version of the paid version for 30 days. You can also check out cnet's antivirus page. They have free antivirus software you can down load. The editors at cnet review most of the software, and there are also user reviews. Check it out, it's pretty good.download.cnet.com/windows/security-softw...

I used Malware Bytes and it didn't find anything. I'm updating MSE and will run it when it's done.

Just a note of caution:
It is unwise to have two active antimalware programs running at the same time, unless you want to trash your system.

I'm taking of Sophos as it won't update and I don't really trust it, and DF said that Malware Bytes and MSE can be used together.

well i didn't say they can be used together but they also serve slightly different roles.
MwB is basically only for malware and its pretty damn good at what it does. Probably the best out there but that is really all it does.
MSE guards against more and it also is made by the same people that made your OS. It is probably the best at most efficiently protecting with using fewer resources.
MSE i like as a main with MwB as a good protector vs what will probably most commonly effect ones computer.
Things like spybot and others are good but I've found that they just use way too many resources to do their job and can just bog down one's system. 1 great program is best. Dont go over 2 and only have that many if they focus on protecting against different things.
The big thing though is that malware bytes is only active if you got full version. with the free version it doesn't actively scan and protect. Its just a scan for malware when you feel like it and do a good job at it. So should be no worries with it conflicting with any other anti virus program you got that actively protects.

It might help if you let us know what you mean by weird. Im no computer expert but I had to fix my computer a time or two, thousand. And when I say 'fix' that ussually involves me beating it with a ball bat and then buying a new one (new computer, not ballbat, although I do need one of those too, I really thought an aluminum bat would hold up better).

The command prompt was randomly popping up and instantly closing. I think it might have been because I set my system to back up today.
