My playtesters have had experience with D&D 3rd and 3.5 and the Dragon Age RPG.  I've played Basic D&D, 3.5 D&D, Savage Worlds, WEG Star Wars, and a few others.
I ran some friends through the first section of the caves, the kobold lair.  They walk into every ambush, but managed to come out of them intact.  The mage was almost knocked out, everyone else just scratched.  The kobolds were practically wiped out.  This was mainly due to my dice hating me...
They like the advantages/disadvantages rule.  They like the new class abilities for the pre-gens and the at will powers for arcane and divine characters. They would like to see more info on character generation.  They liked the simple and easy to read character sheets.
So far the mechanics seem solid.  The rules played fine with my group, I'm used to improvising DCs so the game went pretty smoothly.  Combat went quickly without any big problems.  But they did miss the attacks of opportunity. Depending on the map situation, they could get surrounded and flanked and not really be able to prevent it  when enemies move through them. But I suppose that could be handled by their PC "holding their action" and attack anyone who moves close to them.
Weapons and gear lists were good enough to do the job.  Did feel that the quarterstaff seemed "too good", does more damage than a mace, while a spear (basically a quarterstaff with a short sword attached to it) did 1d6.  Feel that a spear should be more versatile, with a weighted "mace" tip on the other end. Then use it either to thrust or bludgeon.
