Question: Would it be useful for us to start specifying if we want to be begetted or self-ascended? Presumably, at the start of the game most people will self-ascend, just because no one will have already been in game ot beget them, but begetting should be a viable option fairly quickly, too.

Well, as might be obvious from my God, I plan to be begetting... many people. My own... ascendence... I am quite agnostic. If someone wants to ascend me, by all means... if not... I'll ascend myself at some point.

So what are people planning on doing this time around? Anubis, I imagine that we'll be butting heads quite a bit, but I'm not entirely certain I'd describe my character as 'good.' Given that one of my goals is to have an ever-encroaching mass of vines slowly strangling the entire world (hey, its Life!)... :D

As much as I'd love to play against type, I think it would be pretty futile for me to try and completely avoid the crazy I usually have in every one of my gods. I'll just try and avoid the whole batshit insane this time and focus more on the quirky. It was funny, though, I was thinking of trying to go for the completely terrible, evil bad-guy god. But I figured I would end up too tempted to go full-on creep mode. But I had fun with the Monarch, so I suppose a bit of that quirky strangeness would be worth a second go-round.
That said, I could pull a total 180 and completely change my god by the time we start. Just informing y'alls.

Yeah, I could see both Ikola and Krulsk being... self-ascended gods. Or, at least, begetted together, and they'd make sense fairly early on (hint hint, oh great and powerful admins who doth verily review the roster and alloweth some in and telleth others to wait).
Ara, it kind of looks like TrashMan would be begetted, is that right? I mean, if he's called He Who Has Been Thrown Out (or HWHBTO), then presumably someone had him in the first place to then throw out. Or were you thinking of something totally different? Also, since you are all civilizy, were you planning on entering after civilizations get started, or were you planning on starting the first civilizations? And finally, any particular kinds of tea that TrashMan is a fan of?
Joran, it sort of looks like you might be going for a kind of Io-like god, is that a fair assessment? That is, a really early creator deity along the same lines, so probably self ascended (or maybe begetted by the elder thing)?
Kal, cool concept. Are you sort of going for a Hephaestus or Aulë sort of god? Do you envision him as sort of... creating the clockwork of the spheres, as it were?
Edit: Ah, ninja'ed by... several minutes. I blame the fact that I had thought I hit the submit button a while ago. This wasn't in response to Toph's post, I'll get to that eventually, after I don't fear a double-post.

Toph, I’m planning on doing a bit of planar exploration, which as a result will hopefully lead to me creating a variety of non-standard magics. For example, I might build a magic system off of Plato’s Theory of Forms: I’d make a plane were idealized forms exist, then teach mortals to channel power from there into the imperfect material versions of those forms. My god might also make/discover various other magic systems related to his allies. For example, he might make one for Krulsk that involves stealing power from other objects to imbue it in one’s own objects, but twists that power in the process (steal a fish’s power to breath water and it might just make it so you don’t need to breath at all, for example). Course, any such things would be vetted by the respective players, first.

I'd also imagine the two of us butting heads a bit Topheh, though perhaps not quite as much as I'd invisioned if you're going to be strangling the world. Hell that's his holy symbol . Even so I picture Krulsk being a relatively early god, either being created as a mirror to Ikola or being created somewhat later as a 'seeking of balance' so to speak. I do picture him being self-adcended for that matter. As for plans, hm... well he's the god of Corruption, so that sort of speaks for itself. I don't really see him as a 'grand manipulator' though. He'd love to, say, split the elves to create the drow or split paladins to create anti-paladins for instance, but I'd see it as much more goading and offering power than outright manipulation. Honestly, personality wise I picture him having ogres as one of his favored races for what that tells you about how blunt he is XD
