Minotaur Runepriest works well. The stats line up, the Runepriest buffs himself quite a bit, and Bloodied Ferocity ensures that you get an extra attack every combat. Take a Blood Fury weapon and you can choose which target to get your free attack on. You can definitely do some almost-striker level damage for the heroic tier.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned it, but the hybrid Cleric|Barbarian can keep people healed and do some great damage. It has a couple of advantages over the normal Barbarian: great AC, ability to use multiple dailies in a combat without feeling like you are losing out on their effects, solid enough healer. However - it's not a true leader. You won't be doing anything a leader does except for healing. Although taking Power of Skill with Righteous Might does make your opp. attacks interesting, although not really any more damaging than they would have been.

I was going to look into a dwarf Runepriest. I personaly don't wish to play a Bullman but thank you.

On the subject of the Barb|Cleric. I did build one for critique and started a new thread. This one seems to be rammbling. Totally my fault and the next may begin to rammble eventually. If any wish to help with my new build please come on over. Found here...

This was one of my first build thoughts. I had a short lived thread dedicated to it. I built a few but never posted any. I just didn't really like how they turned out. In hind sight i could have posted them to get some help fleshing them out.
I'm really building a PC for levels 8-12 for now. I hope we get beyond that. I would rather try to make a character that does not have to rely on charging all the time for their damage. If i were looking towards a melee skirmisher that would really shine but i would like to be more frontline , shift stationary.

I'm a little floored that I didn't notice that hybrid Oath of Emnity works on nonavenger powers.  Is this really true?  If so, how awesome is that really?

Thats because it doesn't work on nonavenger powers.
The Elemental Man (or Woman): A Genasi Handbook

The Warlord, Or How to Wield a Barbarian One-Handed

The Bookish Barbarian

Fardiz: RAI is fairly clear, but RAZ is different

That's right. Rules According to Zelink!

It doesn't.

You can, however, get a basic attack that's an avenger attack.  As well as have many things that grant basic attacks.

Warlord|avenger would be pretty good too.  Using things such as death from two sides.

my builds Show

F-111 Interdictor Long (200+ squares) distance ally teleporter.  With some warlord stuff.  Broken in a plot way, not a power way.
Thought Switch   Higher level build that grants upto 14 attacks on turn 1.  If your allies play along, it's broken.
Elven Critters Crit op with crit generation.  5 of these will end anything.  Broken.
King Fisher Does an excellent job at keeping an enemy disabled in a few ways.  Strong.
Boominator Fun catch-22 booming blade build with either strong or completely broken damage depending on your reading.
Very Distracting Warlock Lot's of dazing and major penalties to hit.  Overpowered.
Pocket Protector Pixie Stealth Knight. Maximizing the defender's aura by being in an ally's/enemy's square.
Yakuza NinjIntimiAdin: Perma-stealth Striker that offers a little protection for ally's, and can intimidate bloodied enemies. Very Strong.
Chargeburgler with cheese Ranged attacks at the end of a charge along with perma-stealth. Solid, could be overpowered if tweaked.
Void Defender Defends giving a penalty to hit anyone but him, then removing himself from play. Can get somewhat broken in epic.
Scry and Die Attacking from around corners, while staying hidden. Moderate to broken, depending on the situation.
Skimisher Fly in, attack, and fly away. Also prevents enemies from coming close. Moderate to Broken depending on the enemy, but shouldn't make the game un-fun, as the rest of your team is at risk, and you have enough weaknesses.
Indestructible Simply won't die, even if you sleep though combat.
Sir Robin (Bravely Charge Away) He automatically slows and pushes an enemy (5 squares), while charging away. Hard to rate it's power level, since it's terrain dependent.
Death's Gatekeeper A fun twist on a healic, making your party "unkillable". Overpowered to Broken, but shouldn't actually make the game un-fun, just TPK proof.
Death's Gatekeeper mk2, (Stealth Edition) Make your party "unkillable", and you hidden, while doing solid damage. Stronger then the above, but also easier for a DM to shut down. Broken, until your DM get's enough of it.
Domination and Death Dominate everything then kill them quickly. Only works @ 30, but is broken multiple ways.
Battlemind Mc Prone-Daze Protecting your allies by keeping enemies away. Quite powerful.
The Retaliator Getting hit deals more damage to the enemy then you receive yourself, and you can take plenty of hits. Heavy item dependency, Broken.
Dead Kobold Transit Teleports 98 squares a turn, and can bring someone along for the ride. Not fully built, so i can't judge the power
Psilent Guardian Protect your allies, while being invisible. Overpowered, possibly broken
Unnamed Avenger|Runepriest/Hammer of Vengance Do lot's of damage while boosting your teams. Strong to slightly overpowered.
Charedent BarrageA charging ardent. Fine in a normal team, overpowered if there are 2 together, and easily broken in teams of 5.
Super Knight A tough, sticky, high damage knight. Strong.
Super Duper Knight Basically the same as super knight, only far more broken.
Mora, the unkillable avenger Solid damage, while being neigh indestuctable. Overpowered, but not broken.
Swordburst Maximus At-Will Close Burst 3 that slide and prones.  Protects allies with off actions. Strong, possibly over powered with the right party.

That makes sense.  I should have pulled out my PHB3 and checked rather than looking at the Character Builder.

I am not 100% sure about this, but i think that a hybrid bard who picks up the skald aura is able to use two heals an encounter instead of the usual one. You can then pair it up with a class like the warlock who has two at-wills that count as basic attacks, so you can also benefit from the at-willl from the skald, say temp hit points equal to cha when you hit. One problems i know with this at the moment is that you may not be able to do everything you want on you first turn

Straight Warlord.  Warlords are just cleverly disguised strikers that can also heal, buff, and reposition their allies weapons.

Check out the Barbarian|Warlord build in my sig for a very offensive-minded Striker|Leader.

If you want more healing, Barbarian|Cleric would be better.

Ranger|Cleric is a very popular combination as well. Just pick up a double sword and you're good to go.

Another interesting build is Blackguard|Warlord. Pick powers that allow you to make MBA's to deal striker damage while also handing out attacks to your allies.
