So I am trying to design a human paladin then specializes in smiting with a big bludgening weapon. I want to focus on just ONE big hit and NOT be a mounted or a "charger power attack" build. For pathfiner they have the vital strike feat chain and was wondering if 3.5 had anything similar. Besides that I am looking for any alternate class features, prestige classes, magic items that will make my smite more powerfull/versatile/more effects. I would prefer this build be viable within 10 levels and not have to wait till lvl 18 to have all the perfect combination to be awesome as some builds are.

Best smite in the game: Ordained Champion. Powered by turn attempts and not linked to a specific level. This gets around both major problems with Smite (extreme limit per day, and stuck to a specific class) and can be entered by a fourth level cleric. (They do paladin better than paladin.)
Best smite damage I know of, sadly, is the charging smite variant in the PHB 2. Biggest advantage: the smite is not wasted if you miss. However, you don't want to charge, so this might be out.
Smite versatility: Awesome Smite in Complete Cheeseball. Adds effects to Power Attack smites. This is the feat you want at 6.
You can't avoid Power Attack for 3.5 melee damage, I'm afraid. Furthermore, consider the Tome of Battle rather than smite mechanics. The advantage on a smite is the bonus attack, not the bonus damage (unless you critical).
Finally, the A-Game Paladin in my sig matures around 8th-10th and really picks up steam in the higher levels. It uses its smites for better things, but its raw attacks often deal more damage.
Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free. Weekly Optimization Series:

I don't mind using Power Attack I just don't want it to be a Power Attack build...I want it to be a smite based build. I DEFINETLY want to do Paladin (I know cleric/ordained champion or use Tome of Battle would do it better). Awesome Smite is a great feat and I thank you for that one.
I was thinking of doing 5-6 paladin then go into fist of raziel but this is still tentative. Like I mentioned as it stands now I want to be a Paladin that Smites and I don't want to be mounted or be a charger...everything else is open for discussion.

Divine Champion (PGtF) has a Smite Infidel ability which allows you to stack smites. It also can be used on anyone with a different or no deity.

The Cuthbert's smite feat (Dragon 306, p101) expands your smite evil ability to also be usable against chaotic targets. Using paladin as the basis of your build doesn't exclude using ordained champion. Paladin 4 / ordained champion 2 / fist of Razial x works, though the smites from ordained champion don't get any of the bonuses from fist of Razial.

I'm going to say that what I think you are looking for could actually be the Grey Guard, eventually you just smite, alignment non-caring. It's rather nice if that's all you are looking to do.
If you want it to feel like '1 big smite' the argent fist might be an idea... allows you to add it's class level to the Stunning DC when delivering a smite attack in conjunction with a stunning fist.
