Okay so I'm building some companions for the party and story I'm creating because right now we are short a few players. I am trying to use DM2 companion NPC guidelines so the question is, do I build the Character using the Character build tool or should I use the monster build tool and customize it a bit? What are your thoughts on that? I feel it would be better suited to build them as a monster because the rules for NPC are for the most part already in place but on the other hand finding the right powers are easier under the Character building method.
Also I would like to manage them myself partly because I too want to be involved in the story and my boys are new to D&D. however,, rules dictate these characters should be DM built and played by PC's. Your opinions on this matter is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance LB

The Character Builder does not have the rules for making NPCs, and I'm not sure the Monster Builder does either, but the Monster Builder would be, at least, the more correct option.
Another day, another three or four entries to my Ignore List.

Yeah It at least starts with the template but it would be really nice if they added a NPC and NPC companion builder to the Adventures Tools kit
Thanks LB
