A379: Creature and object are lightly obscured. (DM Guidelines PDF pg. 11)

A380: No since he would fail to meet the conditions for stealth to stay out of sight. (How To Play PDF pg. 08)

Q381:  Many of the fighter manuvers say "When you hit a creature with a melee attack."  Does this mean my two-weapon fighter can 'attack-trip' with one hand and then 'attack' with the other hand??

Q382: i download the most recent playtest material,  In the class description for Cleric - I dont see where it says the number of level 1 spells known nor the progression of spell learned per level.  What is it? Do you just have access to all level 1 spells and pick what you want prepared per day?

I see it is specified for the wizard in their class description: 3 known, and  1 per wiz level.  Simple  (Why didn't they elaborate for clerics?)

A382: You have access to all cleric spells you can cast. You can prepare a number of spells equal to 1 + your cleric level, choosing any spells you wish from the cleric spells you can cast.  (Classes PDF pg. 06)

Q383: With the changes to the rogue class, they have Martial damage dice, but spend skill dice to do their skill tricks, and do not seem to have a way to spend the martial damage dice. Am I missing something, or is this basically a free damage roll for every attack, assuming they do not take the feat that gives them maneuvers? Also does spending a skill die mean that they cannot use it for skill checks that turn as well?

Q384: How does assassinate work? Is that simply on your base damage die? Or does it max or double any martial damage dice you choose to spend as well?

A383: Correct, Rogue's Combat Expertise Dice are used as Martial Damage Dice unless the Rogue gain access to other game elements letting him spend them in a different manner.

A384: Assassinate maximize all the attack's damage including Martial Damage Dice, and if the target's saving throw is failed, the damage is doubled (in addition to being maximized initially).

Q385: When using a shield in each hand, does thier +1 to AC stack?
(probably not, but figured I would ask to be sure)
Q386: Since a shield can be used to deal damage, does it count as a weapon?
Q387: Can a character weilding two shields benefit from Two-weapon defense?
"Ha! Rock beats scissors!"
"Darn it! Rock is overpowered! I'm not playing this again until the next edition is released!"
"C'mon, just one more."
"Oh, all right..."
"Wait, what is that?"
"Its 'Dynamite' from the expanded rules."
"Just because you can afford to buy every supplement that comes out..."
"Hey, it's completely balanced! You're just a bad DM for not accommodating it."

RPGs are getting more popular, and whenever something gets more popular, it inevitably changes, usually becoming more palatable to the masses. Nintendo is the perfect example. In the old days their games coined the term "Nintendo hard" to extend play time, but they knew their fans were dedicated enough to play anyway. Now they mostly make stuff a five year old can master. That's not necessarily bad, though. Most of those old Nintendo games were infuriating. Likewise, a lot of old RPGs were too complex and irritating for the average person to really get into. Rules light systems are going to get more popular as more people enter the hobby, simply because the new people aren't bound by nostalgia, and would rather play something easy and fun than something that takes a huge amount of effort to learn.

Q 388:  Would you allow the maximize spell feat to max healing spells?  RAW, it is only damage rolls, but my cleric asked about, and it doesn't seem to game breaking.

A385: Yes, nothing specifically say you can't get AC bonus from holding two shields.  (Equipment PDF pg. 02)

A386: While it can be used as a weapon, it doesn't say it count as one.  (Equipment PDF pg. 04)

A387: No because you are not wielding a different weapon in each hands when holding two shields.  (Specialties and Feats PDF pg. 10)

A388:  If you feel its not game breaking, you are free to do so, but the feat is designed to alter your spells to get maximum results out of the damage that they deal, but not for any other result though. (Spells PDF pg. 09)
