I was looking at Hold Person.
It states that if used on a creature with 40 hps or less the creature is paralyzed.
However if the creature has more than 40 hps, it cannot move. For both the duration is 1 min.

What is the difference?

If it means they cannot move around the room, why does it not say that the speed is reduced to 0 like ray of frost?

I started playing D&D in the 80's. I've played D&D, 1e, 2e, and 3.xe (and many other RPGs). I also played Magic since it came out (except for a few years around the change of the millennium. I say this so you know a bit of my experience, not because I care about editions.

This is an area that I'm very interested in. I wonder if they have a plan in place already. Obviously they won't have rules system specifics, but the framework could be in progress, for sure.

Count me on that.  I may not purchase the game if they don't release everything in PDF.  I'm tired of buying books and then 4 years later having to buy all new books.

A134: The difference between being Paralyzed and being unable to move is that the Pazalyzed creature is subject to a much more severe condition (it cannot move, drop whatever its holding and falls Prone, it also automatically fails Strenght and Dexterity saving throws and grant advantage. Being unable to move means it cannot move  at all and nothing else. (Ray of Frost also render you unable to move, but only for effects relying on Speed.

(ex. if an effect say you can move 15 feet, a creature under Ray of Frost would still be able to move while a Paralyzed creature wouldn't.)

Have I missed Rule of 3 this week, or has it just not come out?
Harrying your Prey, the Easy Way: A Hunter's Handbook - the first of what will hopefully be many CharOp efforts on my part.
The Blinker - teleport everywhere. An Eladrin Knight/Eldritch Knight.

CB != rules source.

Q 136: Under specialties, Acolyte and Magic-User. The two minor spells you get to pick up. Are they treated as at-will or as "prepare between each use" spells?

Q 137: the Cleric's first level domain spell, is this grouped in as an Orison with at-will use, or must you prepare it between each use?

Is there an assumed weapon proficiency bonus to attack roll?

As far as I have read, the only thing you add to  your  attack is your associated ability modifier. So, how does the pre gen dwarf fighter have a +6 to attack with only +3 strength mod?
My only thought is weapon prof, even though none is listed in the weapon table.

Help?

A136: Minor Spells are At-wills that can be used as often as wished and need no preperation (How To Play pg. 18)

A137: Domains Spells are normal spells that need to be prepared but the Cleric get one always prepared that does not count against the number of spells he can prepare each day. (Classes pg. 02)

A138: Weapons do not have proficiency bonus.
