I'm very interested in playing a paladin and many moves say "The target is affected by your divine sanction." Majestic halo for example. I've looked in the books, on the compendium, and on the builder and I cannot find what exactly the divine sanction is. At first I assumed it was your mark but I'm not sure. Can anyone enlighten me on the details?

Divine Sanction was introduced in Divine Power. It is a mark, and deals damage if violated. The only place I know of where the text exists is within Divine Power.

If you are a DDI-subscriber, you can find an entry under Glossary in the Compendium.
Basically, it damages foes for 3+CHA (6 in Paragon and 9 in Epic), if they violate the mark, which are the same numbers like Divine Challenge. But Divine Sanction doens't need to be maintained, it always lasts a specified duration, which you get from the power used to apply it.
Be careful, as most feats and Paragon Paths only modify Divine Challenge.
