I just signed up to DDI an hour ago.   I'm creating a chracter on the character builder and it's going fine except for adding equipment.   I am just creating a level 1 Warlord and I was able to find/buy the equipment ok, but when I try to add a weapon (in this case a glaive), I hit the weapon pulldown on the Equip screen, select the weapon, and the screen greys for a second, then lightens up again and the glaive is not in the weapon slot.   Same with the hide armor I bought.

Any idea why the weapon and armor pulldown keeps resetting?

I just created a level 1 warlord, letting the builder select all the options for me, except gear. I equipped him with a Glaive and Hide Armor. No issues.

Do you have other gear that could be conflicting with this?
Did you select any feats or options that make your character lose proficiency in these items?

Have you contacted Customer Service yet?

A glaive is a two-handed weapon.  Are you allowed to use two-handed weapons? For example, are you a small or tiny character maybe?  Do you have something in one of your hands that would prevent you from equipping a two-handed weapon?

Proficiency in the weapon doesn't matter - you should still be able to equip it even if you are not proficient.

As for hide armor, I can't think of anything that could prevent you from equipping any type of armor you want.  Even if you're not proficient in armor you should still be able to equip it and take a penalty to your REF and attack bonus.
OD&D, 1E and 2E challenged the player.
3E challenged the character, not the player.
Now 4E takes it a step further by challenging a GROUP OF PLAYERS to work together as a TEAM.
That's why I love 4E.

I was creating a dragonborn.   I had to check the box beside the weapon in the inventory screen to get the weapon to work, but I still get the same issue with the hide armor.

On my level 1 dragonborn warlord, I can't actually select the check-box. It's automatically checked, if I have the glaive equipped.
If I unequip the glaive, I can now check the box, and it shows in my powers, but it still doesn't show as equipped.

Are you using magic items, or mundane?

What else do you have equipped?
What feat do you have selected?
What type of Warlord are you? Archer? Baruva? Tactical?
When you started creating the character, what option did you select? Lair Assault? Forgotten Realms? Home Campain?

If you were to just delete this character, and create a new warlord, does the same issue happen repeatedly?
