So... money that goes directly out, too.

Also, I already cited my sports examples. That's all I need . Though it would be nice to get an F1 and ALMS teams out here too.

IIRC, you cited racing, more than once, as a sport.  Doesn't count.  You also cited the Charlotte Bobcats as a professional team... which is highly suspect.  That leaves you the Hurricanes... did they even make the playoffs this year?  Last I looked, they were #11 in the East, with only the Top 8 teams advancing.  The St. Louis Blues were #1 in the West.  That leaves you (slightly) winning the only thing you have left: the Panthers vs the Rams... but I still have the Chiefs and TWO baseball teams in my state.  And that's just the one I live in now.  Check out my CT sometime and get back to me on how your state matches up with mine in terms of sports, racing, and per capita income sometime.  I'd welcome the opportunity to crush you in yet another "My state is better than yours" debate.

Racing does count, as frankly it requires better reflexes than any other so called sport. Especially lol ball dropped through hoops for tall people. It requires far more team work, and effort, and is far more competitive.

Also frankly? Your non driver athletes? Wouldn't even qualify for a Nascar race which requires the least skill out of all the disciplines.

Infact I bet they would do so bad that they'd get out half way through whine about the heat inside the car, and go on strike until some kind of better airconditioning was put in the cars, assuming they didn't just crash on the second lap of an oval course.

You have 2 baseball teams you say? Congratulations on that, you have the most strike and whiny athletes who play the second least demanding sport on the planet in your state... twice over.

Infact I would argue baseball should not be considered a sport on the MLB level, because the "athletes" are so juiced up that they aren't human anymore.. there's less human honed skill there than in any race craft. Hell even Golf requires more talent.

Actually... I'm just giving you a hard time.  I think football and hockey are the only real sports, and I don't even like hockey.  If it doesn't involve bodily contact as part of the game (so baseball and golf are out) and can't be played in bad weather (which punts everything else), then I don't consider it a sport.  And I think that the "can't be played in bad weather" clause is less important to the definition of sport than "involves bodily contact".  It's just fun to watch the car guy go nuts and defend racing as a sport so vociferously.

The only disqualifer for your sports category for racing is, the body contact. Most racing leagues will race in the rain. Although if your reason for body contact is potential for injury and great harm... more people die doing racing than the other sports you know

Also, at least we agree, baseball and basketball are not sports.

Nah, I was counting auto racing as a contact sport.  But... they just postponed Daytona for 2 days because of rain.  I've seen them run other cars in inclement weather (Indy and F1 street races, especially), but I've never seen NASCAR run in the rain.  Or any other oval/tri-oval/non-road race, for that matter.
But they'll play football in anything (except tornadoes and hurricanes), and even the NHL plays (possibly) snowed-on games.

Well the -one- respect I'll defend NASCAR with, is you really can't drive on an oval in the rain due to drainage. Imagine hydroplaning at 160 miles an hour... you'd have that at every single turn

The Bush League, does race in the rain on their many many road courses. (they have like 8 road races a year I think?) It's amazing watching them race in the rain. You wouldn't think those cars which were originally designed conceptually for ovals would do so well on a road course, let alone in the rain but damn they can seriously haul ass.   It's funny cause at this point I watch more of the Busch /Nationwide series than the premier events cause they do more road courses. Which are almost always infinitely more entertaning than ovals and take considerably more skill. (ovals it's only a little bit on the driver... unless the car they are driving is setup like garbage)

Football, that's becoming more the exception than reality though, they are starting to play more and more games with domed stadiums... that makes me a very sad man.. you are being paid millions of dollars a year... You better work in the friggin rain. Hell I work outside for longer than football game every day, rain or shine.
