In case none of you have heard of it, there is a movie coming out this week called "Bully". It was been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), so its producer has decided to release it Unrated. Why was it rated R, you might ask? Because teens drop the "F-bomb" six times during the course of the film...  Yes, that is actually the stated reason for the R rating: Language by teens. It was ok for the Iraq War documentary "Gunnery Palace" to use the same word 43 times, and still get a rating of PG-13. "Makes sense", you might think, "it involves soldiers, not teens". Ok, how about "The Hunger Games"? You're all familiar with that movie, right? Just had the third-largest opening weekend EVER, and the largest in history by a non-sequel. Just in case you live at one of the Poles, and haven't heard of it, it's a movie that was rated PG-13... and is a movie about kids killing kids. Ages in the movie range from 12 to 17, and the entire point of the "game" is for 24 children to off each other until there is only one left standing. So why is six instances of kids saying "the F-word" worse than 20+ instances of kids dying at the hands of other kids? Personally, I think the MPAA is out-dated, and possibly out-moded. Thoughts?

If we pretend it doesn't happen that means it doesn't happen. Besides, in what reality do teen bullies and bullied teens use the f-word anyway? Never happens. Oh, and words are weapons, sharper than knives ...

It's a magical hammer with great powers; however, it's best not to talk about the hammer. It's been known to suddenly appear and smash people in the face. My next door neighbor was talking with his wife about the hammer, and the hammer appeared out of thin air and destroyed their house, stole their dog, and gave his wife hammertitis of the liver. We aren't sure what happened to him. He hasn't been seen since.
