Hey everyone,
this might be a bit unusual, but I'm looking for some kind of song for my character. We use music to amplify our gaming experience, we have stuff for fights, music for investigation and the likes. It's kind of subtle (like: Midnight Syndicate - Darkness Descends) and always without or very few vocals. I've been looking for quite some time now but I can't find something fitting for my character, so I'll try asking you guys. Maybe some of you also use music and know where to look to find good music. The character is a cheery, kind Lyrandar airship captain as the general theme and a Scoundrel as class. So the music should also go into that category, have a cheerful tune to it, while also having a bit of depth to it (so no carnival stuff ). I know it isn't really easy and it's my first time to search for a theme song, so I don't really know what to look for.If you need additional information, feel free to ask.
I've already thought about that, lead me to this homepage with has a shitload of good information on it.
Already a great start, thanks! :3
"Jack Sparrow" from the Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack. It might be a bit too much at parts but overall very humorous and light.
The theme from the movie Madagascar might also fit you well. Nothing screams Fun! *quite* like it to me. Also, notice the similarity? I find it impossible to go wrong with Hans Zimmer in general. I'm sure if you look through his amazing plethora of brilliant music, you could find something.
Look at Abney Park - Aether Shanties.
There are bands that have airship songs. -Chrysalis
Let me give you a more fleshed out post.
Akira the Don - Fun with Science Crystal Castles - Air War Crystal Castles - Reckless Four Tet - As Serious as Your Life King Crimson - Prelude: A Song of Gulls Toro y Moi - Divina I'll post more if I find 'em. I'm a man who likes looking for music.
My shifter druid uses "Werewolves of London" (Warren Zevon) as his theme song, that's for the lyrics.
Battle ahead? "Foreplay/Long Time" (Boston), especially the first one. "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" (Pink Floyd) has a hugely long instrumental lead-in that may work for a 'growing slowly in the distance you see an airship approaching the field" scene. There has to be a Led Zeppelin - pardon the pun - song that you can use. And if the plot requires the airship to crash... I found an album, "Wagner's Ring Without Words", that may help too. The best one-and-a-half hours of music from a three-night-long play!
don't know about you, but i always like "Eye of The Tiger" by Survivor as my theme
"For glory" by Two Steps From Hell. Great song for epic battles
Remy Zero - Save Me
If you tend to get into situations where you need help a lot.....
