If I use a 'Novice Power' feat to make a power switch, dropping one of my encounters (which I use as a daily) to pick up an encounter from someone else, should I still use it as a daily?

I was tinkering with a twist on the generator idea, magmasoul genasi bladesinger/breach warden. Since you are already damaging yourself, breach warden adds on another damage instance, although it requires a decent amount of marking abilities to make it work. You get one from the warden MC itself, and a few are available through skill powers, but that's where I'm having a hard time digging up more marks.

Half-elf and grab an mba. Take defending dabbler. You could grab eldritch strike and base it on con, and do con dex. Or grasping claws and do dex/wis. There is also Overwhelming Strike+Power of Skill. A paladin at will or a cleric one.

Nice. I like the Defending Dabbler - Breach Warden idea. Gonna work on that when I have time.

Unfortunately, nobody knows. Ask your DM if he's ok with it. It breaks the class mold, but I'd be okay with it because a) you spend 2 feats to get it, and b) you're playing a Dwarf Bladesinger, for chrissakes! Have some mercy!

All right, updated the Generator to include Breach Warden. The damage from your MBA climbs by 10 points at level 12 to 1d8+45, which is pretty awesome for a Bladesinger. And that's not including Bladesong (+5) Werecheese (+1d10), charging (1d6+1d8) or Lightning Weapon/Spellsoul Blade (+3).

Half-elf -Grasping Claws -Wild Dilettante(Allows you to use grasping claws while not in beast form) -Versatile Dilettante -Werebear(bonus defenses) -World serpent's grasp(mba slows, bladespell prones) -Unseen hand(slide 3 squares) -Claw gloves
Now your mba works off a main stat for you since you are con/wis. Take the MC druid feat that gives you wild shape. Grasping claws slows, follow it up with unseen hand to prone the target and slide it 3 squares away. Unless the creature as reach, it can't reach you as it is still slowed so it can only charge 2 squares.
Edit: Did some more thinking PP Blightbeast -Grasping Claws now does +con mod necrotic damage when in beast form -Ignores necrotic resist with powers with the beast form keyword -Gives vulnerable 5 necrotic until end of next turn if the target does not have necrotic resist -You can take necrotic bladespell which knocks prone if the target of the bladespell was the same size or smaller than the target of the original attack -All powers are wis based so they line up with your at will
Bloodmoon Stalker -AP feature: possibly use 3 mbas in a round which means 3 bladespells -Crit on 19-20 -More wis based powers

This doesn't work unfortunately, because WSG requires hitting a slowed target and Bladespells don't hit (or miss). They just happen. I haven't found a way to use WSG consistently on a Bladesinger yet.
I do like the Blightbeast + Shadow Sever double tap though, nice find. Additionally, if you use Savage Rend instead of Grasping Claws, you can prone and slide the target 1 square from level 11 on, which means no effective melee attacks for them. Which means you're actually being somewhat of an effective controller *gasp*
EDIT: I put up the Beastblade in the second post. Looks good!

Something that I just noticed that really bugs me, is that Bladesingers can only use their Bladespells on their turns. This class isn't exactly a monster and creating such a small, forced limitation seems kind of arbitrary and dumb on the developer's side of things. Or are Bladesingers just that abusable?

It cuts them off from out-of-turn shenanigans like Repel Charge + Bladespell, Battle Awareness + Bladespell etc. That's annoying, but far from the worst thing to be "wrong" with the class in my opinion. But yeah, annoying and unnecessary nonetheless.
