really great if you have area attacks.
Roll <5 for your fortune? use that when the defender is in your attack.
The sea looks at the stabillity of the mountian and sighs.
The mountian watches the freedom of the sea and cries.

I realize Tuathan [Compendium link] has been discussed earlier in the thread, but I'd like to draw attention to the totally sweet level 2 utility Faerie Fortune [Compendium link], which is more or less a d20 reroll. Actually slightly better than a reroll for most builds, since you know ahead of time what your second roll will be.

Sure, there's an opportunity cost, but since most classes have weak L2 utilities I thought I should call it out.

Edit: Make that "very similar to a reroll, yet possibly inferior in some cases, such as rerolling an Avenger's Oath of Enmity attack", since I just realized you substitute it before knowing what the first roll would have been. Still good!

Yes, made Tuathan Black, for that power and the potentially really useful utility 10. Faerie Fortune is basically an encounter version of Dice of Auspicious Fortune that works on any roll. That's very, very good even if Tuathan is basically lousy for everything else.

The features are really good on a sub-zero build (generally revenants). I realize that's a corner case, but thought I'd mention it.
I am okay with you saying my argument is stupid, or commits the munchkin fallacy, or any other bad thing you want. Particularly if you give a reason/explanation for it.

However, I will ignore any post that calls me stupid, or a munchkin, or what have you. Not because it bothers me; I've just found that people only start name-calling when that's the best argument they have left.

They're okay - still basically a theme that gets a +1 to Death Saves and the ability to reroll Endurance as their theme's encounter attack power.

I meant more the "end an effect when you make a death save, and stand up if you spend a surge." A sub-zero build that invests in boosts to death saves (not that hard to do) can get a lot of mileage out of that. Again, it's a corner case.

Is there any way we could get sources, for people without DDI?

You can access the compendium and look at sources even without a DDI sub. After searching the source should be on the result line (although you cannot get the details of the feat/power/etc).

I find it funny that everyone dislikes Animal Master, and especially funny that you put it in the Striker category. Hint: It isn't the feature power that is the most interesting part of Animal Master, but rather the utilities. You can do a whole lot more with Animal Master's utilities than you can with Fey Beast Tamer's; you just have to get creative about it.

You're going to need to do a lot more than hint if you want Animal Master to be anything other than Red. Exchanging good class utilities for situational garbage in a theme where if your animal dies, that's it for a minimum of an extended rest doesn't strike me at all as being a good idea.

Don't know which "trick" would be worth giving away a standard action and a utility power slot to a crappy animal.
