It does indeed require constitution and charisma... I didn't notice that until just now... and the pact was a gem until that moment...
Eh, just like Lightning Strike the jump damage is mostly useful for popping minions and, unlike LS, the jump damage gets a boost at epic. Even using a tertiary stat as a rider is still useful, especially one that you can change the damage type at-will.

As I said before, I really like the Elementalist.
I don't care for the level of his AC, though.

am I reading the elemental rift power wrong? or did they really give the sorcerer a sustain minor utility zone that removes enemies from play with no attack roll?
Not only that but because saving happens as the last action of your turn. If they do save they are brought back into play and immediatly subjected to being removed from play again because they ended their turn in the zone.

You can drop the "Ele" from Elemental Pact. It's just mental. The boon is only gainable as an Immediate Reaction. As in, if you kill an enemy you have cursed on your own turn, you don't gain your pact boon. That's absolutely, unimaginably, awful. You essentially get penalized for doing your job. Want to gain your pact boon? Don't finish of your targets on your turn! Your target's below bloodied? You'd better leave him to start on someone else, and hope he doesn't get up to much mischief while you wait for a team mate to finish what he's doing and finish him off for you.

So can anyone explain to me why exactly they gave the Elemental Hexblade scale proficiency and DIDN'T give it to the other hexblades? All the other CON based hexblades have crappy AC too.....
Also, if they are going to have a couple of Hexblades that have necrotic at will attacks you'd think they would include a bit more feat support for necrotic powers. Seems like it is substantially lacking compared to some of the the other damage types out there. And while I will never turn down some generic +dmg feats, I don't think builds using cold, lightning or fire were really lacking for damage....

Quick question. Is anything from this book worth taking for D&D Encounters? Lvls 1 - 3.

That's a pretty vague question. What kind of things are you looking for?

If you mean the Infernal Pact, they probably expect it to be durable due to its ability to rack up a lot of temp hp. Not that the two are equal, but I'm pretty sure that's their reasoning.
And yeah, Elemental Rift is going to need some errata. I doubt they mean for enemies to reappear back in the zone after they save.

I want to build a couple of pregens that use new content but don't make the players feel underpowered compared to other players.

Is the new Sentinel companion, the Living Zephyr, better than the existing wolf or bear? I heard someplace that it has an aura 2 of lightly obscuring.
