...okay, so do you think I could have a Kender that fell through a wormhole as a character, since they seem to have been exterminated by orcs or something? Just a thought...

Kender were unique to Krynn, the DragonLance world. I'm fairly sure that if Wizards had produced a source book for that world kender would have been added, but, unfortunately, they didn't. Maybe 5E.
