So this is my first stab at creating an Avenger. My basic idea was to build someone who would be an undead slayer, later on having some smackdown on demons via the Demonbane feat. I just really gave this my best shot but I don't really know what I'm doing here, Avengers can be complex. Feedback is more than welcome on this guy.

Two-Handed-Weapon expertise is probably better for you than Versatile, unless you're actually planning on using the PPs implement powers. Which also allows you to grab a different weapon (given the crit-fishing, Bloodiron springs to mind, assuming your DM allows "Painful Oath" to trigger all the radiant elements).
IMHO, you should consider not upgrading powers sometimes. I typically stick with "Fury's Advance", "Vengeful Parry", and "Relentless Stride", but I've not considered at all how those will combine with your PP.

Practical gameplay runs by neither RAW or RAI, but rather "A Compromise Between The Gist Of The Rule As I Recall Getting The Impression Of It That One Time I Read It And What Jerry Says He Remembers, Whatever, We'll Look It Up Later If Any Of Us Still Give A Damn." Erachima

And depending on the party, Strength of the Many can be a more powerful capstone than your level 29 power. Most good classes have powers you just don't want to swap out.
Mountain Cleave Rule: You can have any sort of fun, including broken, silly fun, so long as I get to have that fun too (e. g., if you can warp reality with your spells, I can cleave mountains with my blade).
Thanks for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated! Good point about deadly draw, thank you I didn't see the duplication. I also changed the +2 holy symbol to a +6. As for versatile expertise, about half of my powers use implements so it's worth it to me. There is a 3-point difference in my to-hit with weapons vs implement powers though (the +3 profiency bonus for the fullblade). Is there a feat I can take to close that gap? I have an open slot now at level 6.
Good thought about not always upgrading my powers. That's my problem, with this class I don't have enough experience to determine which ones are ok to swap out and which ones aren't. Here is a list of my original powers:
lvl 1: Angelic Alacrity, Aspect of Might lvl 3: Sequestering Strike, Light of Truth lvl 7: Inexorable Pursuit, Temple of Shadow lvl 15: Aspect of Fury lvl 17: Soulforge Hammering
Any of these you would recommend keeping instead of swapping out?
Soulforge Hammering for sure. I'd maybe swap the level 3 and 7 powers for Relentless Stride and Fury's Advance too.

Well, if you've got a Holy Avenger, then you don't need a +6 Symbol of Victory. The Holy Avenger works as your implement. (And yeah, at that point, Versatile Expertise)

Okay, I've taken your suggestions and gone through my character through every level, making some major changes since I think I have a better grasp of him now than I did previously. The goal is the same, he concentrates on radiant damage to lay down the smack on the undead and later demons in paragon. He'll take the sunblade in lower levels and radiant in paragon and epic, until he gets the avenger. I retooled several of his powers, and since only a few of them are implement-based he will be taking two-handed wpn expterise. Decreased his strength a bit to give him Int of 13 to give him a better invoker MC, which opens up Arbiter of Forgotten Justice. Huge flavor there as he gets improved crits against undead, demons & devils. I love Pack Outcast since I essentially get Deadly Draw from level one without having to use a feat (and lots of flavor for RP), and the Wheloon background so he can take Thievery as a skill. Defenses are significantly higher as well.

EDIT: I have since changed his background from Wheloon to Luskan, as a boost to stealth is nice and this preserves his thievery skill as well.
For equipment I took what seemed sensibile. I'm not exactly sure about my armor though, could use some input there.
According to the NWCS errata it just got nerfed a bit (an ally has to be next to your adjacent enemy) last week, but that hasn't caught up to CB yet. Even when it does it still is worth it, both for the flavor and to help with CA.
