Okay I've got to make an int/dex short sword weilding succubus (Gish) using HoTFW and PHB1. My idea so far is rouge mc wizard.

I may be wrong, but I think you're looking for Character Optimization as this section of the forums, or at least from my interpretation of the threads here, is mainly for roleplaying purposes; such has constructing a story to fit a character.
Now to address your statement, why don't you just build a character using your current idea? A Rogue MC Wizard sounds like it will cover your vague description of what you're looking for...

The closest I can see in one class is the Skald, which is an Int-secondary weapon-and-magic class.
You don't have access to hybrids.
There is also the issue that pushing both Int and Dex leaves you two weak NADs. With one of those primary, you want the other no better than tertiary.
Even if you take just one of those as primary and potentially even dump the other to 8, there are no good single-class sword-and-magic classes in those two books.
I recommend you go Rogue or Archer Ranger, multiclass Wizard if you like but don't push Int much, and take a theme that provides useful magic-seeming powers - they'll probably be utilities, but the right utilities can really ROCK. Unfortunately I don't think any of the themes in HotFW fit the requirements, and PHB1 doesn't have themes. Are you restricted across the board, or only on class and build?
Alternatively you could go Wizard and multiclass Rogue or Archer Ranger. You then would be high Int and lower Dex. Still no great themes in HotFW, the least-poor fit is probably Fey Beast Tamer and it would actually be useful - but it would NOT seem weapony.
If there were more books available, there'd be more options. Swordmage for starters, a prepackaged sword-and-magic class that is Int-primary.

warlock with a pact blade if you can manage it. Warlocks get access to stealth and thivery IIRC.
