Playing, yes. I run 3 games (DS, E and FR) that meet weekly or monthly.
I own the 3 core rule books (first release) and a DDI subscription. With the frequent changes that went into 4E, I bought nothing more, nor plan to. Depending on where things are when my subscription comes due (November 2012) will depend on if I renew or for how long. Normally I do yearly.
I signed up for the playtest. Depending on what I read and see, obviously depends on how I participate. I plan to.
As for 5E (or whatever the name is). IF working versions of the Character Builder, Monster Builder and Compendium come out at LAUNCH, and I have not been horridly turned off by the playtest, I'm in.
What I'm not doing is waiting around for products not ready at launch like we did with 4E hoping they will release them, then waiting more for them to fix them. I came to 4E because the game went to 4E, not due to any dislike of 3.5. If they are not full in 100% on this one.... well, I still own my 3.5 books and I know another game that has a lot of support. I'll also keep on 4E so long as the tools remain, but again, if they go, so does my support as I own no books.
Not trying to be snotty, nor a pessimist. I can't stress how much being ready to go on launch day means to me.

I won't take time away from my 4ed adventures. I'll have to cut down on some other pursuits, but I'll make the time for it, if for no other reason then to know what's coming. So anybody feel like starting an actual 4e forum?
If we can block trolls from entering it, I'm all for it.

I'll definitely keep buying and playing 4E. We have a long-running homebrew campaign that we need to finish before switching to another system. Also, my gaming group really likes 4E, so new material is always welcome.
That said, I am interested in where D&D is going, so I'll try to make time for the playtest (whatever shape and form that is going to take). If I like what I see, I'll buy into the new edition (which so far has been true since 2E so there's a good chance).
Personally, I'm very excited about both the Undermountain and Menzoberranzan book due out this year.

Keep playing? Yes Keep buying? Yes
My 4e group just started an Aginst the Giants campaign. I expect that to atleast take us to April. I would like to do some 5e playteting with them after that, but I will talk to the group and see what they say.

Oddly enough...
Keep playing? I've already shelved 4e for quite some time...
However, I do plan on eventually getting the 4e Darksun Campaign Setting book when I can get one used. More as a supplement for when I eventually run Dark Sun in AD&D Second Edition.
I suppose I may be inclined to buy another 4e book if it was a heavily fluff book of some sort. Will have to see.

Never a guarantee I am sure as a non-commercial forumn there is less ummm need to be super open minded about that kind of thing.

The real question comes to tournaments. Will cons run 4e events when 5e is available?
Yes. At least, the cons I've run & played at since the 80s have consistently had current and prior eds of games being run. I often run 'paleo-games,' using very old editions of a game at conventions, which are a fun place for that kind of one-off nostalgia.
When 2e was the 'new ed,' you could still find 1e, Rules Cyclopedia, and 0D&D at cons. When 3e was the new kid on the block, there was a fair bit of die-hard 2e being played. Today, the Pathfinder Society makes a point of equaling the number of 4e games presented by the RPGA.

Agree, and then I see the whole point of a unified D&D community as moot. It's historically never happened (except maybe with 1st edition, but even then there were Basic, Advanced, and house rules).
Therefore, I don't think it's realistic that 5e will be SO GOOD that every D&Der in the world will stop playing other editions. It didn't happen with 4e, it won't happen now.
It's a lofty, pointless goal stated as a rallying cry that masks other motivations--mainly, to sell more D&D. This, in itself is a logical goal for a business. It's the obfuscation and self-delusion that rankles me. From fellow gamers who ostensibly love this hobby and franchise, I might add.

Buying: Probably not. I'm a DDi subscriber, so it's rare that I buy any actual D&D products anymore that aren't Dungeon Tiles or the comics. Even if they were to suddenly stop supporting DDi, between myself and my friends, I already have access to the entire 4e library, so no big problem there.
Playing: Most definitely. Ignoring the fact that I'm currently playing in two games, DM another, and have another two games that'll be coming out of hiatus within the next couple of months, let's face it: Within two or three years, they're going to come out with a bunch of revisions to fix all the desing flaws and oversights that are going to plague the core set. Might as well wait and get the .5 version.
