As the title says, now that it's the new year, what would charop people like most to see in published products/Dragon magazines? Mine would be;

1. Support for the Ossassin to make it a viable striker. The Black flame stuff didn't really cut it.

2. More Themes that aren't total crap mechanically.

3. A total rewrite of the Seeker to make it half useful.

4. A nerf to KAM (yes I do know I'll be burned at the stake for this).

Happy new year all.

More Runepriest love! The Kara-Tur article was a great start, but we've got a long way to go.

I'd also like to see other classes getting a slice of the Fighter love without having to MC Fighter. Seriously, I've taken MC Fighter on way, way too many characters recently, up to and including a friggin' Invoker, because Fighters get all the best toys. Either removing the Fighter prereq from a few feats (never gonna happen, I know, but I can dream) or introducing similar feats without the prereq (there's precedent for this: Wary Fighter and Battlewise) would be really nice. I'd like to feel like I'm not nerfing myself by taking any other MC for any but the most specific of purposes. I have no illusions that this will actually happen, of course, but I can dream.

I'd like to see a little more support for the Psion and Ardent, while I'm at it. Books like Dark Sun and HotF have proven that WotC isn't averse to helping out specific classes outside of their main books, and I'd like to see that trend continued. Seekers, too, need a lot of help (much more so than the Psion and Ardent, it's true). If WotC would just keep supporting the classes they've already made instead of making stupid new subclasses (HotFK/HotFL/HoS style ones are stupid; ones that work with old material, like the ones in HotF, aren't stupid), I'd be happy.

Really, though, Runepriests. Gimme more Runepriest stuff.

As an addendum, I'd like to see more backgrounds that aren't just "skills or a language." Yes, the Scales of War backgrounds, some of the FR backgrounds, and even a couple of the early general backgrounds tend to be better than the new ones, but just making more and more new ones that are all exactly the same ("choose one of these skills to get in-class, choose one of these skills to get a +2 to, or learn this language") isn't helping anyone. We need more new ones that are on par with the old ones, or we're never gonna see anyone take anything that isn't an old one. If an option is considered to be too good and is an autopick, making a bunch of weaker options does nothing to dissuade people from flocking to the old one . . . but I'm preaching to the choir.

What makes you say that? Half of all similar threads request nerfs to KAM and zone abuse, so I don't see why you'd expect a backlash for suggesting the same.

I just figure that KAM has been around this way for so long that the nerf could be controversial, to say the least. There would be many on both sides I'd expect.

When a wizard can break a 100 dpr with KAM and melee training, you stopped hearing people defend the pp.  For the most part anyway.

1. Suport for seeker (perhaps an essentialized version?)
2. Ossassin suport, and executioner bump-ups (they would be a good class if they had off-turn attacks)
3. A reworked vampire, relesed alongside the wearwolf.
4. Warlock damage feats.
5. Heroes of the Astral Sea.
6. A kill off of the binder, just make a new warlock subclass with a swich between controll and striking like the berzerker.
7. Runepriest suport.
8. Shaman AC fix.
9. More HoFW-type subclasses.
10. more essentialized hybrids.

While one report may say that FLGS report a greater amount of book sales, one cannot forget the fact that the 71000 DDI subscribers paying 6-10 dollars a month don't count as "Book Sales."

Stuff I Heard Mike Say (subject to change): Multiclassing will be different than in 3.5! That's important.
There is no level cap; classes advance ala 3.5 epic levels after a set level.
Mundane (AKA fighter and co) encounter and daily powers will probably not be in the PHB (for the lack of space), but nor will they be in some obscure book released halfway through the edition.

You can't please everyone, but you can please me.
I DO NOT WANT A FREAKING 4E REPEAT. I DO NOT WANT A MODULE THAT MIMICS MY FAVORITE EDITION. I WANT MODULES THAT MIMIC A PLAYSTYLE AND CAN BE INTERCHANGED TO COMPLETELY CHANGE THE FEEL, BUT NOT THE THEME, OF D&D. A perfect example would be an espionage module, or desert survival. A BAD EXAMPLE IS HEALING SURGES. WE HAVE 4E FOR THOSE! A good example is a way to combine a mundane and self healing module, a high-survival-rate module, and a separate pool of healing resource module.

5. Arcane Power II with ZERO support for the Mage/Wizard/Witch/Bladesinger(OK, maybe the Bladesinger) but heavy support for the ASSAULT Swordmage, Artificer, O-Bard and Sorcerers especially  Storm and Cosmic who have been forgotten since the original AP.

6. Divine Power II for the sake of the gods, please just make the O-ssassin a sub-build of Avenger already. More Runepriest support, More Invoker support...

7. Primal Power II Shaman, Warden, Barbarian all deserve more support.

8. Start deprecating feats and Start with putting out boring Combat Expertise and Combat Focus feats and getting rid of all the chaff related to them.

9. Lets go for a whole year without releasing a new e-class, especially when that e-class is nothing more than a stripped down o-class(I'm looking at you Bladesinger)

Personally, I'd really like to see a Runepriest MBA option, even just adding a Runepriest Power to the list for Power of Skill would be nice.

Generally, I'd like to see:
Good support for the classes and races from PH3.
A Feat to increace the size of your Fey Beast Companion to Large, or a functionally similar Large "pet" option.
A Vampire Sub-class that's designed and specced as a Controller.  And actually effective.
I'd also second the comment about more "Scales of War" style background options.  I'd also like to see a generic "add a skill to your class list, or gain +2 to a skill, or gain an additionnal language" background, call it "Something interesting happened to me" and then we can stop seeing all the bloat in the backgrounds that do exactly the same thing.
