There are a few options for melee warlocks. Just make sure that you choose eldritch strike instead of eldritch blast.

Generally the best bet for a melee lock is a charging Eldtrich Striker, usually an Exe|Lock

If you would rather go with a PHB1 Warlock than the Hexblade, a King'lock will service you quite well (hybrided with Executioner or otherwise).

I've decided to keep my Warlock | Cavalier build simpler (for one, being a Cavalier) and probably not going for the mass-mark, instead focusing on being a striker but having that catch. I think I'm going to play it in encounters first, so it's going to start much earlier and get more items. I need to figure out what ways there are to add Radiant damage to attacks. As far as I know, Sunblade is the main way to do this. Sun Disk of Pelor works for implement attacks, but doesn't work with Morninglord. Crusader's Weapon is an option, but I'd really like the option on a Flail. Scabbard of Sacred Might for one attack. Holy Smite for one attack. Lightning Weapon + Crown of the Brilliant Sun works, but not until L14, obviously. Is there any way other than an enchantment to use flails as an implement?

Crimson Fire is still really hard to get (Curse and Mark at same time). Easier in Paragon, admittedly. In Heroic it's better to be a Cavalier (+4 initiative +4 Surge value +2 and the aura deals full damage instead of only Cha mod that hybrid paladins get on challenge).
I think I'd want Relentless Curse over Reckless Curse.
Where are you getting your second L7E from?
I was also thinking Morninglord, actually.
Why Master's Wand of Dire Radiance?
Crimson Fire isn't that hard to get. I'm a Ranged Striker, I just use 2 Minors a Round, if I want to. Besides, it's 3 damage over Killing Curse, right now.
I ca't use Essential's Classes, so no Cavalier. Also, it works in Melee range, and I work at Range.
Relentless Curse is VERY good, but is it better than +1 Attack? Not sure here.
E7 was taken instead of E13, since it's just a better power.
And since all 3 of my Encounter Powers are Immediate Action Attacks, I'm kinda sticking to Dire Radiance, thus the Master's Wand in hand, to make it slow stuff down. It was either that, or the Rod of Corruption. Tough choice, as the Fighter Slows/Prone/Slide/Pushes on every hit, so this makes it doubly annoying.
I don't even have a Feat Bonus to damage yet, which is odd.

Good reasons. I'd like to hear how much you keep curse and mark silmutaneously once you've played it, because if you find it really working I might take another look at it. Killing Curse is 3 less damage, but it's always on damage. I like reliability and damage equally.

Wasn't there a Warlock|Paladin on the ultimate Defenders page?

There was, but it was a Defender that had Warlock's Curse, not a Striker. I don't think keeping the Mark/Curse setup should be hard, by the way. While you're killing one guy, you'll be Cursing everyone else in the area, so by the time he's dead, you should have 1-2 more cursed foes. Rod of Corruption makes it all too easy if I end up going with it (as seems likely - things might just get to Bloodied within one round, thus forcing me to recurse the same target).
EDIT: Or I get the Prison of Salzacas, both the Wand and the Rod, and sell the Blackleaf Gloves. Start with the Rod, and switch to the Wand later on as a Minor.

Arcane familiar: Disembodied Hand. Swap your shield out on your turn for your +1 rod of corruption, kill something, curse explodes on encounter, then swap back when done. Some DMs (Most?) will be annoyed with the golf bag thing though.

Not really against hexblade. I just know that a few of the essential classes don't really stack up, and I'm not sure where the hexblade falls in that. And there was something cool about a warforged warlock, but race isn't quite as important. Really just always looking for interesting character ideas to try out and have fun with.
