I'm trying to make some characters in the character builder, but it's not letting me choose encount or daily powers.
Right now i'm working on a Fighter, and the only skills it lets me pick is 2 stances. If I go to the character sheet, it shows one encounter and no daily power.
Is something wrong?

You picked fighter (slayer). Which doesn't get many choices. They just hit stuff hard. Simple, but effective.
Or mabey fighter (knight). Which also doesn't get choices, but it tough and smacks people who move away. Simple, but effective.
You might want fighter (weaponmaster). Which (possibly) get's the most choices in the game. He smacks people who move away from him, but only if he already attacked them. Complex, and it's effectiveness depends alot on your choices.

Oh, so not every class has atwill/encounter/daily powers?

Most do, but not all.
It's worth noting that slayer/knights still have an encounter power (though not a daily). They just don't get to choose it.
They also get extra stances (at-wills) and other passive features. So they remain balanced with the classes that do have dailies.

Since it looks like you're new, you may not be aware of another 'feature' of the builder: if you choose "New" then your character is forever limited to content in the HoFL/HoFK books. Nothing else can ever be chosen or added (which is especially 'fun' if the character acquires an item that isn't in either of those books).
Any time you want to make a character, no matter the circumstances, choose "Custom" and then "Home Campaign". The other options will only lead to grief somewhere down the line.
