Githzerai aren't from the Elemental Chaos, they just live there .

...and as an adventuring githzerai how much of your life would you say you spent living there before you became an adventurer? I'm asking about the elemental chaos not the realm where the race originated. To split hairs like that and point out such a small and pointless inaccuracy really grinds my gears. I hope they provide a lil more fluff for githzerai who lived in the elemental chaos too.

I hope they didn't invest too much into this book, because projected sales figures are going to be way off in wake of the new edition announcement.
CORE MORE, NOT CORE BORE!

This does at least explain why they couldn't be bothered to make elemental classes.
Of course, this also means they may kill the elemental power source in the next edition.

Man, there are so many character archetypes that fit under wizard that it makes total sense that there would be a buttload of wizard subclasses.
Bah, Warlock / Sorcerors no less so Wizard isnt any more generic.
And technically Historically the distinction between arcane/divine is minimal. One mans sainted miracle worker is his adversaries witch or sorceror.
A wizard with positive connotations is a priest.
I don't really agree. The flavor of arcane vs divine classes is immensely different.
Often arcane characters don't really care what their 'deity' cares about, or have no deity at all. They strive for glory, or knowledge, or just to blow things up. Getting to do these things determines their actions.
Divine characters are compelled by their faith, and their faith determines their actions.

IF they even have power sources beyond the degree previous editions had them.

Well, we certainly know now why there are only four (sub)classes and no new races.
Also, please do not turn this thread into one about the new edition. This is about Heroes of the Elemental Chaos, not "5e."

Three subclasses, at least as far as I can recall.

Study actual history.. there is next to no distinction miraculous acts were considered based mostly on the point of view, calling upon the divine to attack your enemies with curse like effects entirely religious when you were the one doing it and obviously witchcraft when it was the other guy. See that divine called on well, One mans god is his adversaries devil.. again and again and again.
Oh and Gandalf was a divine being who spread hope throughout a previous era of men and became a harbinger ... a role change but divine.

I am not talking about actual history. I am talking about a game that is not a history simulator.
