I'mlooking for a way to regularly prone in melee. I don't want to go the pole arm route. World Serpents Grasp is good but then I need a way to slow or immobilize. I'm trying to pull this off with an axe or hammer and don't want it to be power dependent (so mainly through feats or items). Any suggestions or pointing me to a KAM thread where this has been done would be much appreciated.
The obvious choice would be to use at-wills that knock prone.
Thanks but I want this to work with any and all melee attacks and not just one at-will that prones.
There's the Flail Expertise feat, that allows you to prone instead of sliding when you make an attack that allows you to slide. Add a lightning weapon enchantment (or lightning power) and mark of storm, and you have your guaranteed prone.
While I like that, I'm leaning toward axe to get dwarven weapon training and headmans chop.
Battle standard of the hungry blade and slow-step oil are options I just found. Anything else that's more reliable?
Lightning Weapon Mark of Storm Hindering Shield (Fighter Feat).
Or you could just use a gouge (spear+axe) and take Polearm Momentum in combination with Lightning Weapon, Mark of Storm, and Rushing Cleats.
The Hindering Shield is a good option, thanks. Although it takes two attacks to work. First to slide and slow, second to prone with WSG.
I'm hoping to be able to use a shield and I don't want to invest in wisdom for Polearm momentum... so Gouge is an unpreferred option.
Any other good ways to prone an enemy outright regardless of what melee attack is used?
He doesn't want to use Flails. This would be easier if you told us what class you wanted to play, OP. Eldritch Strike doesn't really fit onto a Barbarian, but it fits onto a Battlemind.
