I just looked at this and think samurai looks very good for an avenger. I may ask my DM to let me have this theme since I haven't given him one yet and this works well and is fairly close to the flavor i have for him. They like the crit boosts and extra movement and will win the initiative battle with enemies fairly often too with the opening power.
Honorable resolve is good for non dwarf wardens, but most of the rest of the theme not that great for them.
All in all this has been a good month for dragon and I feel I got my money's worth.
Edit: and yakuza blackguard is a great combination, both mechanically and flavorwise.

This saddens me to read. We were really hoping the samurai would be out for our Delve over the weekend, then it snuck in at the last minute yesterday. Now I'm reading that it isn't that good? Phooey
Tying an attack to initiative order is never a good idea. Party numbers vary wildly as to monsters. If you can't count on being able to use a power, it's a bad power.
I was really hoping it was going to rock. The insane Slayer we built was just itching for a good theme to finish the Crane Clan Duelist aesthetic we wanted.
It's not a bad theme at all. People are just comparing it to Sohei and Guardian, which are like the best striker themes ever.

Do you actually need to attack with the fearcatcher to benefit from its property?

Can't dominate powers be used to create OAs?
Yup. Though it's kinda hard to come by (tiefling's got a nice stun->dominate upgrade feat).

F-111 Interdictor Long (200+ squares) distance ally teleporter. With some warlord stuff. Broken in a plot way, not a power way. Thought Switch Higher level build that grants upto 14 attacks on turn 1. If your allies play along, it's broken. Elven Critters Crit op with crit generation. 5 of these will end anything. Broken. King Fisher Does an excellent job at keeping an enemy disabled in a few ways. Strong. Boominator Fun catch-22 booming blade build with either strong or completely broken damage depending on your reading. Very Distracting Warlock Lot's of dazing and major penalties to hit. Overpowered. Pocket Protector Pixie Stealth Knight. Maximizing the defender's aura by being in an ally's/enemy's square. Yakuza NinjIntimiAdin: Perma-stealth Striker that offers a little protection for ally's, and can intimidate bloodied enemies. Very Strong. Chargeburgler with cheese Ranged attacks at the end of a charge along with perma-stealth. Solid, could be overpowered if tweaked. Void Defender Defends giving a penalty to hit anyone but him, then removing himself from play. Can get somewhat broken in epic. Scry and Die Attacking from around corners, while staying hidden. Moderate to broken, depending on the situation. Skimisher Fly in, attack, and fly away. Also prevents enemies from coming close. Moderate to Broken depending on the enemy, but shouldn't make the game un-fun, as the rest of your team is at risk, and you have enough weaknesses. Indestructible Simply won't die, even if you sleep though combat. Sir Robin (Bravely Charge Away) He automatically slows and pushes an enemy (5 squares), while charging away. Hard to rate it's power level, since it's terrain dependent. Death's Gatekeeper A fun twist on a healic, making your party "unkillable". Overpowered to Broken, but shouldn't actually make the game un-fun, just TPK proof. Death's Gatekeeper mk2, (Stealth Edition) Make your party "unkillable", and you hidden, while doing solid damage. Stronger then the above, but also easier for a DM to shut down. Broken, until your DM get's enough of it. Domination and Death Dominate everything then kill them quickly. Only works @ 30, but is broken multiple ways. Battlemind Mc Prone-Daze Protecting your allies by keeping enemies away. Quite powerful. The Retaliator Getting hit deals more damage to the enemy then you receive yourself, and you can take plenty of hits. Heavy item dependency, Broken. Dead Kobold Transit Teleports 98 squares a turn, and can bring someone along for the ride. Not fully built, so i can't judge the power Psilent Guardian Protect your allies, while being invisible. Overpowered, possibly broken Unnamed Avenger|Runepriest/Hammer of Vengance Do lot's of damage while boosting your teams. Strong to slightly overpowered. Charedent BarrageA charging ardent. Fine in a normal team, overpowered if there are 2 together, and easily broken in teams of 5. Super Knight A tough, sticky, high damage knight. Strong. Super Duper Knight Basically the same as super knight, only far more broken. Mora, the unkillable avenger Solid damage, while being neigh indestuctable. Overpowered, but not broken. Swordburst Maximus At-Will Close Burst 3 that slide and prones. Protects allies with off actions. Strong, possibly over powered with the right party.

I have a cleric/bard build focused around forcing OAs and dominate is one of the main ways to do it and it uses the tiefling feat to do that to stuns in epic. There are a only a few other non-dominating powers out there that force OAs.

Has anyone looked up/compiled the powers that make an enemy move its speed (usually away from you)? I feel like there are several out there, most of them fear based.

OK, not finished, but here's a rough idea of what I had in mind for a draji aspirant Yakuza. A few things still need ironing out. But overall it is rather high DPR, thanks to making up to four OAs per round against a single target. This is somewhat reliant upon getting Fell Might back fairly regularly, but honestly, with DPR this high it should bloody or kill a target outright most rounds. It could definitely be improved upon. I played with a hybrid cunning rogue version but it seemed very feat intensive (though HBO+Sly flourish and sneaky opportunist did look nice...). I also initially built this as an Evermeet Warlock but that's a bad idea - you can't intimidate when your enemy can't see you, and anyway, the Yakuza encounter power + cursed shadow adds up to -4. Ultimately I've decided to try building this without stealth. One major problem to be tackled though - Hand of Blight provokes OAs. Any good ways of solving this puzzle? Other than switching to a staff. I need to pick a PP! If there was something that made Hand of Blight really accurate, that's what I'd go for. EDIT: Academy Master might be nice. It boosts both at-wills. Tentatively I'll put that in. Hmm, I wonder how Master's Surge interacts with Draji aspirant? I'm guessing that the DA effect is not counted as a part of the actual Hand of Blight power. Also, I can't imagine how you'd convert that to a save ends effect anyway. Anyway, I'm getting pretty tired of making this build now so I'll turn it over to you guys for some suggestions :D Drow, Warlock Academy Master, Destined Scion Wandering Duelist background, Yakuza theme. Ability scores: 28s in dex/cha. Feats (in no particular order). Draji Aspirant Expertise Superior Reflex Superior Will Great Fortitude Bloodied Boon Arcane Implement Proficiency: light blades DIS MC for spiked chain Flail Expertise Nimble Blade White Lotus Riposte White Lotus Master Riposte Two weapon fighting Two weapon flurry Warding Curse Silvery Glow Psychic Lock Gear: radiant (or subtle) spiked chain +6, dark majesty leather +6, magic neck +6, shard (epic), bracers of tactical blows (epic), kingslayer's curse: fearsome reputation.
You knock prone with eldritch strike, so your target generally will have to provoke an OA (about 340 DPR) or attack you, provoking WLMR (and an OA, if you have hand of blight up; about 362 DPR).
Are there any good ways to get fell might back more often? Other than bloodied boon.
Anyway, I think this concept has a lot more potential. I haven't quite nailed it. Let's see if we can get it over 400 DPR :D
